Driver Solutions is a last resort option for sure.

They aren't really interested in you getting a job, as much as they are trying to make a profit.

However, they can get you a job and get you on the road.

btw, Doug at Driver Solutions is a nice guy, and was very honest and upfront with me.

I finished C1 in Indianapolis last month. C1 is owned by Driver Solutions. I can only speak for the school in Indianapolis as they have several schools. My biggest problem there was getting enough time behind the wheel to develop my backing skills to a point I could pass the state skills testing. However my instructor was sensitive to my plight and got me some time with his boss Walter a few hours before my test time and I passed. C1 is what you make of it. If you apply yourself and follow the program you will do fine and pass your skills test. Today I am in the USA Truck student driver program with about 90 hours of my 175 needed to upgrade test to be a first seat driver. I do think C1 failed me in one area, and that's the 45 alley dock backing. I was showed this backing 1 time and out here in the real world I find I need this skill more then I did any of the other backing skills taught at C1, with the possibility of the straight line backing that is the basis of all the backing at some point. C1 will prepare you to be an entry level driver only if you apply yourself. Otherwise they will dismiss you. I now have a debt of close to 6 thousand to Driver Solutions. After a year that will be took care of by USA Truck with the last $1900 paid by check debt of $45 a week for that year. So after a year I will have all my school tuition paid.

Another issue with a carrier financed school like Driver Solutions is the medical issue. My class lost maybe 4 or 5 students because one of the 2 carriers that use Driver Solutions PAM withdrawed their job offers because of problems with blood sugar or blood pressure. If you think this might become an issue with you I would recommend you fast for 2 or 3 days before you report to school, or eat very little up to 24 hours then fast. PAM is serious about this. So if your a type 2 diabetic or have issues with being a borderline diabetic save yourself the time and trouble and get it under control before you start school, AND discuss this with your Driver Solutions agent. Otherwise you will find yourself returning home and in debt.

I'll agree with some of this, but will inform others that C-1 is a training school to get you your license, and that is it. They aren't there to teach you how to be a good driver, and all the skills it takes to be successful. They just get you your license, and then your sponsor company trains you in the first 4-6 weeks. I just got thru with c-1 in North Little Rock AR. Trainers there were very good, and tried to help everyone. They do bring in more students at a time than they should, but they're a business, so you know how that goes. Going for orientation Monday...
