    Yes......But I also knew what it cost to run a rig......
    I knew my BEP (Break Even Point)......

    Most new O/O's or lease operators would look at a load from say L.A. to Denver for $1500 gross as a good rate...........That's a little better than $1.50/m......But a load from L.A. to Portland for the same rate would be better becuase you would burn less fuel......And depending on what you tug....Portland offers a better load out (BTW...contrary to what shippers and brokers say....There is no such effing thing as a "Back-haul"....) than Denver for flats.....

    I have seen some O/O's look at loads from L.A. to Atlanta for $2K and think that's a good rate.....but that is $.93/m....You think that's a good rate?



    I know everybody is different in their needs....but seriously....Why take a load where the rate is so low you're "paying" the shipper to haul the load?

    I pull a flat running the Midwest and from 1-1-10 to 12-10-10 I have ran 245 trips totaling 94,208 hub miles. Gross revenue is $179,824.00(excludes FSC), FSC $11,865. For the last 30 days (12-10-10) I have ran 19 trips totaling 8,716 miles. Gross revenue $15,332(excludes FSC), FSC was $819.

    can u haul the same things in a reefer that u can a dry van or when you pick up a dryvan load does it have to be put in a dryvan or can u put it in a reefer with the reefer shut off?
