Are you forced dispatch? are you given the chance to accept a preplan or decline it? if you can decline it, then why not do it? if you see a load going farther away from where you are and where home is....then if you're made to sit....atleast you're closer to home than where you'd have been had to taken the load. =) just sayin'

 

This is my first Christmas home in four years. Don't feel bad. There will be a mad rush to get everyone home and unfortunately some won't make it. You still have time.
I'd stay out so the ones with kids could get home. I hope you make it.

 

I feel bad about that driver, but there is no reason for a company not to get you home. In my book a company would only get 1 chance for not getting me home for the weekend, never mind holidays. It is unacceptable for someone not to get you home in advance for the holidays, (in a very clean out my truck and rent a car sort of way)

We thought for sure hubby was not going to make it home, kept being sent north east and we are south. Last night he called night dispatch, we had reached the last straw, and they said nothing in the computer about going home for Christmas, but they found him a preload to get home - asked FM this morning why it was not in and turns out Night dispatch was on the wrong screen, but they got him the load that was planned. Pick up tomorrow in Mass, be in middle TN by the 24th at the latest. All is good.
Maybe you just need to call you FM and ask if there was a mix up?!?!

You still have 4 full days, seems like plenty of time to get home.
