And in several other fields as well...this is just another of MANY holidays I've been gone from home in the last 20 years...I may not be a Trucker (yet) but even I know whining when I hear it. Suck it up and drive on; at least your not getting shot at or mortared like some Marines I know...

You are telling someone to "suck it up" and "drive on", yet you are not even a driver?

    What a joke.

Well this is the first winter and holidays I've had to work in alot of years.
Any how I will be lding the 23rd and have found out there is 1000.00 extra money for each driver to go home for Christmas.

Talked with a company driver Monday and he was getting ready to fly from Salt Lake to Tx. Company paying..

I remember some outfits I worked for years ago, there was a lot of swap outs trying to get drivers home if they wanted to get home.

What do you want, a medal?
Follow your own advice and "suck it up".

Look first and foremost I feel bad for any driver that wants to be home and cannot. Just remember companies go out and get accounts and contracts and whether its a holiday approaching or not these accts still have to be served. My friend you are not the only one who will be working. Firemen police gas stations and even grocery stores will have people working. Its a sacrifice and a choice and yet its part of the deal. How would you feel if you were at home and needed gas. Or bread and all the stores were closed due to the holiday

Oh boy, here we go. <REMOVED INSULT> THERE ARE DRIVERS OUT THERE THAT CANT FIND WORK ANYWHERE ELSE. SOME ARE NOT DOING IT BY CHOICE. THE OTHER THING ABOUT MARINES GETTING SHOT AT, EVEN ALOT OF THEM ARE GETTING HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS. THERE ARE SOME GUYS THAT DRIVE CAUSE THEY HAVE FAMILIES TO TAKE CARE OF. WHY DONT YOU GO FIND SOMEONE ELSE TO HARRASS. :biggrin_25516:

Since i am a single man, no kids. I don't worry about getting home for CHRISTmas. My company thanks me for staying out, with a nice bonus check.

    Merry Christmas!!!
