DAC doesn't put the info in about your past employment, that is up to your previous employers. DAC/USIS only collects it and offers it up when asked...for a fee of course.

what exactly did you have to do to get it removed b/c i had a company put something on mine that they totally changed what actually happened.stiffride Thanks this. -
Whats a DAC report? I'm about to start with Swift here In January and it seems almost impossible for a rookie to survive these days with these DAC reports and this and that. I understand rules and regulations need to be there for safety and standard reasons but I learn by way of trial and error and I know I'm gonna have screw ups along the way. so any screw up that in the long run will benefit me and help me through the learning process can be a potential bad report on my DAC?

I was kinda wondering the same thing I had a bad run in a few years back, and am wondering as I return to the road if they put any negative mojo on my gojo!

A DAC report is a company to company report card for a driver. A tattle tale thing.... If you fart & stain the seat, every trucking company you apply to after that will know!

I wish you luck.stiffride Thanks this. -
Well I'm glad it wasn't a fart stain, but I won't ever forget that dispatchers name......We had run in after run in we hated each other with a passion, but I still ran hard for the guy....

DAC comes under the sames rules as your credit report. You are entitled to a free copy each year. There is no reason to fear DAC. All DAC does is report or keep a record of what member carriers report to them. Carriers can get a copy of your mvr, criminal and work history through them. As long as you do your job there is no need to worry about DAC. If you have tickets, accidents, etc., it will be reported to DAC. If you abandon your truck it will be on your DAC. It is an easy and quick way for a potential employer to check your background. When someone is fearful about their DAC it is usually because they did something while with a previous employer and they want to keep it hidden from potential employers. Mistakes can happen with DAC, but they only report what previous employers send them.
For the most part, DAC reports are pretty general in their reporting. There is a note as to whether the individual is rehirable. I would like to see more detail in DAC reports. They sometimes allow bad drivers to continue working in this industry. I think that if a driver abandons his equipment that he should be permanently barred from working in this industry for life. It is inexcusable. Another thing is theft. If a driver has been found to steal from his carrier he should also have a permanent ban for life. It would get rid of some of the slugs of life and improve our industry.
As much as many hate the idea of CSA 2010, it may be the best thing for this industry as far as employers are concerned. Carriers will be able to spot drivers much more quickly than ordering a DAC. We have some good people in this business. We also have some of the dregs of life. I hope that we can get rid of many of the bad apples and improve this industry. Those who continually abuse their equipment, skip over pretrips, excessively speed and fail to keep up their log books will now be held more accountable and potential employers can spot those who should not be allowed behind the wheel of a truck. -

Where can I see a list of the CSA 2010 companies that scored the highest? I looked on the FMCSA but could not find it, is there somewhere else it may be? thxstiffride Thanks this. -
I believe that you need to put in the DOT or MC number to pull up specific carriers. I don't believe that you can pull up a group of carriers based upon their scores. CSA is different than the Safe Stat. Under safe stat carriers most would look at a carrier's inspection recommendations. A carrier could be low today and if they had no recent inspections their safe stat score could go up. It is my understanding that under the new system you will need to look at specific areas and there isn't a score given unless there are problems.
