Texas. I don't pry too much. but apparently between weather, roads and distance the loads wer enot worth it. -shrug-

So the original dispatch was NV > IL, and Rick rerouted so he could get home to TX. Now you are going from Reno, NV > CO, then CO > IL. i.e. still NV > IL?
Since Rick was going to reroute from NV and head SE to Tx for hometime on his way to IL, could he reroute S/SE from Denver, CO > TX (and home) and then up to IL, which was part of his original plan of NV (to Texas for home) then to IL?
Or not enough time when he leaves with the Denver load to IL?
Hope he is able to still make it home for Christmas. -
T.D. This is a very good lesson. Your trainer might very well be home for Xmas because they might "S-Can" him for refusing a load! You can never, ever refuse a load! You can nicely request something else but not refuse. It sucks but it is something you just have to deal with running for these mega-carriers. On a side note, this is a good reason to not drive for the mega-carriers. They don't care about your situation or your wants and needs. You are just a number, "next in line please"!
T.D. I take it you don't have plans for Xmas. Hopefully you will end up at least having a good meal somewhere. Maybe even splurge a little and get a hotel room. Well I hope things go better for you guys today, drive safe!

Injun, thanks for pointing me at this thread!
TD...WOW.
Not a trucker (yet, maybe), but a great deal of experience as a trainer/instructor/teacher in the Navy (and yeah, there's a difference between the three) Your first driver's (I won't dignify him with Trainer) actions would have had me up in front of my Commanding Officer and rank taken away in a flash. You showed admirable dedication sticking with it as long as you did, which was longer than I would have...but we are two different people, with different experiences and attitudes. Congrats on Rick, he sounds like the ideal that trainers and instructors are supposed to be! Milk his brain for every ounce of knowledge you can get!
I plan on monitoring this thread for a while, still looking at post-retirement options...kind of tired of wrenching on airplanes!
And last/least...there is nothing gay about bubble baths. They are a great way to relax...I always take a long one when I get off the ship after a deployment; good way to get the "Boat slime" (mix of jet fuel, bunker fuel, and whatever crap is in the plumbing) off.
Of course...my wife is usually in there with me... -
This trainer is an independent contractor and, as such, may refuse any load for any reason or no reason at all without repercussion. Even company guys are allowed to refuse loads. They just have to run it past their DMs first.
Whatsamatta, Chompi? Did Swift refuse to hire you at some point? Or were you fired for some reason? Which is it?Last edited by a moderator: Dec 28, 2010

Injun you so enjoy attacking people all the time! Don't take it out on everyone else because you drive for Swift! One day you will take your training wheels off and drive for a real trucking company! Until then honey stay over there at the newbie learning center!

*walks away from it, hands behind back whistling tunelessly and telling self it just isn't worth it*
I would go back and edit out directed comments, but my edit button is gone.
I stand by my information and am currently adding only the third permanent ignored person to my ignore list.
