My daughter made $9.50 an hour signing drivers in at a (name held to protect her) major grocery distribution warehouse in Phoenix untill she had her baby, Now she's making $12.50 an hour sitting on her arse watching contractors build a building! Yeah Guards ARE making more than drivers do at these pathetic and embarrassing wages they agree to work for and screw the rest of the drives as now they are setting the "standard" for BFI's to screw their workers! It might be better to work the desk dispatching that driving!
22¢@mile split teams CRST just say it 11¢@ MILE

if you average 55 mph it is actually $12 per hour.
that is just the miles YOU drive.
you get .22 cpm for the miles YOU drive. but you might average a speed slower than that, if you figure in the time you have to stop for pre trip inspections, and fuel and such. -

no, it's not $12 / hr split!
he gets .22 cpm for every mile he drives, and 0 cpm for the miles his partner drives.
or you could say he gets .11 cpm for his miles, AND .11cpm for the miles his partner drives.
An average trucker gets say 2,000 miles a week, by himself. So he might make 22cpm times 2,000 = $440 a week
the trucker splitting the pay gets 2,000 miles, then his partner drives another 2,000 in that same week. So that one trucker gets 11 CPM times 2,000 plus 11CPM times 2,000. He gets 11CPM for every miles the truck moves.
so that is 4,000 x .11 = $440
so either pay him 11 cpm for the TOTAL miles, or .22 for just his, same difference.
