Blocking Both Lanes on purpose? Friendly Question, don't worry...

You mean to tell me that fishlips thinks we are supposed to move over to allow traffic to merge????? I want to see the law on that one because last time I checked on it, merging traffic has to yeild the right of way.

Oh as far as merging for lane closures. Last time I seen a lane closure they had signs warning of it for a few miles before the closure. In some instants I have seen the warning signs over 5 miles before the closure. I think that is plenty of time for someone to adjust their speed for a proper safe merge, rather then wait till the last second and have to stop because people won't let them in. Again the law applies here also, Merging traffic has to yeild the right of way.

Oh by the way, passing on the shoulder or in the grass is called reckless driving and is a citeable offense.

Funny, I have a 4x4 too. And I've driven 18-wheelers. And while I love my 4x4, I felt safer in my big truck. Might be because I got my 4x4 stuck in wet grass and mud, while I know my big truck would have pulled right out. Having a 4x4 does not make you invulnerable.

 

technically its a 8X18,,, if you've got the diffy lock in.

I really can't stand it when a 4-wheeler decides to merge late with a lane closure. I like it less when a trucker does it.

I've seen smartess insults thrown towards other drivers on this forum from different members. "You've only been driving for 3 years, you don't know diddly squat, I'm better than you and I know everything, blah-blah-blah-blah."

I personally don't believe EVERYTHING in someone's bio. That will be dumb on my part.

I actually had a city cop here in Portland, Or. (that was right in front of me) give me a thumbs up when i blocked the other lane to stop the morons.
