I am going to buy a Wilson 5000 antenna. I have a question regarding if I should go with the magnetic mount from Wilson OR a Victory VMAG6SO magnet mount. Is there any great difference between the two mounts?

CB City dot com has the Victory mount VMAG6SO

I decided on a Cobra 148GTL after all. I found a bunch of local guys who use it. Also researching a base station!!! WOOHOO!!!!

    Any help is appreciated!
    Thanks!

I wouldn't go spending the extra 53.00 on something that you don't need that ground plane will not make any noticeable difference. I have used Wilson mag mounts forever and they perform great in all conditions. Just my 2 cents:smt117

Hey Jeff hope you aren't buying radios from that guy way over priced. About $40.00 on average.

No way! LOL! Going to buy from CB City dot com. I was asking about the other mount because I am placing the Antenna on the center of the roof on my 04 Concorde Limited and wasn't sure if the Wilson could withstand the wind and speed. If it can't I will just get a trunk mount, what do you think?

Did you look into the Wilson 1000 or even the Lil Wil? I just retired my Wilson 5000 after 13yrs of good use. Great antenna, however, a 1000 would have done me just fine...and saved me a little bit of money. Just something for you to ponder.
