Finally got my third pick done. By the time I got to Yuma, I was on fumes. The Loves system was down so I finally parked it for the night. Will fuel in the morning.
I already know they'll repower this load tomorrow somewhere between Yuma and El Paso.
I'm sure I'm headed back to Cali.
this time wasn't so bad. Either that or my memory's gone.
Transflowed a little over 3100 miles last week and have 2200 so far this week, without my present load. So I should flow close to 3,000 again thursday.
the weather has been beautiful here. 71 today in the Imperial Valley.

Danger zone = between the hours of 3AM and 7AM

Yea, with an attitude like that he will probably skate by for a couple more months, and then leave pissed that he didnt get enough miles and come here to say how bad a company Stevens is lol

    Now for my update.
After our 3 droper in LA this morning, Trainer is taking home time for New Years and to buy if fiance a new car as hers died. Its cool. Stevens put me up in a brand new Comfort Inn in Colton, CA. Awesome place with pool, jacuzi, 42 in Flat Screen, free wi-fi. Very top notch, and they give a Trucker Rate of 60.00 a night.

Clegg glad to hear things are going good for you. Did I read one of your posts right you gonna do alliance lease with stevens? If so what was the reason to go that route? Do you think that not being a company driver is a good thing?

I am strongly considering it. There are many reasons for me to consider it. Profit pottential, a little more freedom being a couple. Leasing is definately NOT for everyone. Theres alot involved. I have a business background having run my own business involving a truck (not a big rig, but smaller) and sold it for a profit some years ago. Also I have managed a store for several years. With that background I know that I have the drive to make it work better for me than being a company driver.

I do have a question for our Lease Ops on here. The info I got from the Alliance guy says that, fuel cost is capped at $1.25 per gallon. Is this true? I know we get the fuel surcharge on loaded miles, and we dont pay pump price, but is it really capped this low?

    yukon2001 Thanks this.

Clegg if you feel that will be best for you I say go for it brother. Just make sure to read the very fine print. I would also ask TLeaHeart for some advice with the lease option. I'm glad that things are going good for you. How long til you make grad fleet? So are you still in CA til Jan 2nd? Stay safe and keep it between the lines.

I am picky about words, as they have meaning...now fuel is not CAPPED at $1.25. Capped meaning you will never pay more than $1.25 per gallon. This just is not true.

What is true, the fuel surcharge is figured on the weekly national average price of diesel. This week the National Average is $3.294. Our fuel surcharge is .345. At 6mpg, that is .345*6= 2.07 $3.294-2.07= $1.224 per gallon. Now if you purchase fuel in California, current price is $3.495, then you are paying $1.425. So it is NOT capped.

Now there is a little more discount passed along to the alliance fleet, but we do not see that amount until we get our statement. Currently running about 5% discount. Sometimes it run as high as 12%. Stopping at the suggested opti stops does help with the additional discount, but that does not offset the cost of fuel burned to drive out of route to get to that fuel stop.

My average cost per mile for fuel is .166 for 2010.
    My mpg for 2010 6.71.
My actual fuel cost per gallon for 2010 $1.041

So yes fuel is as low as $1.25

    Corporal_Clegg Thanks this.

Clegg., at least you will be comfortable for the new year.

I am current in the frozen state of Montana..have an am delivery here in Butte. 2 degrees now, suppose to drop to -12 tonight.

Hope you are all being safe in that nasty blizzard rolling across I80 in wyoming and nebraska. I hightailed it out of casper a day early, and stayed the night in Worland for my first drop this morning...woke up to 8" of powder on the truck. Cold weather and powder, the highways were clear for the most part.
