From Griffin make your way up to 81. Take it to 78 into Jersey. Take 287 north to 80 east towards the GW bridge. This way you'll have less tolls and the traffic will be more favorable. Go across the Cross Bronx and go over the Whitestone bridge. Follow the signs to 495 east. It will be a left exit. At the exit for 495 make sure you go left. If you go right you'll wind up on the Grand Central Parkway, a very big no no!
When you make the left exit you'll go about a mile and see signs for 495 east. Take that exit, it'll be a hard right exit. Just follow the signs. Exit 495 at exit 18, I'm pretty sure it's exit 18, just make sure it say's Grand Ave. Make a left onto Grand Ave. Grand ave will split off to your right. Stay on Grand Ave. Take it about 1/2 mile untill you get to the R/R tracks. Turn right onto Rust Ave. Follow Rust ave to 48th. Turn left. 88 Trading will be the yellow building directly across from the NYC sanitation depot. You can get there the night before and sleep there, it's a safe and quiet area. If you do get there the night before just park in front of the loading dock. They will back you right in and get you unloaded quick. They are all Chinese there so you might have a little language issues.
When you leave, go back the same way you came in right back to 495. One thing, when you go back to 495 on Grand Ave, it's going to be a hard right then a quick hard left where Grand ave and Metropolitan Ave merge. Just watch your turns there. When you get back to 495 you'll need to turn right and run the frontage road a little bit to get back on 495. Also, make sure you follow the signs for trucks only at the merge to go back towards the Whitestone Bridge. More than likely Louie will bring you back to the yard empty. Just call him before you leave. The Challenger Thanks this. -

I've enjoyed reading all of your Calex adventures! Always wondered about them, use to see your trucks quite a bit when I was driving for Marten. Now, the only connection to Calex I have is this model truck that sits amongst my other model trucks I have that are domiciled in PA.
JohnBoy and THE ROOKIE Thank this. -
JB, everything still good with ya'? I've noticed your post have been getting fewer and farther between, I'm sure it's just a result of the miles you've been turning. Hope all is well with you, and "lobo", "jrotra" and anyone else on here working for Calex that I've missed. I'll tell you this, I'm looking forward to the new year, just something about starting over from scratch that gives me a refreshing outlook for 2011.
