You are welcome. I am not sure how much faith that I would put in to the numbers. Some of it is a matter of interpretation. Under the old system, the lower the number the better. A high number was not good. The new system can give you a trend, but it will take time before the numbers can give you an accurate picture of a carrier. I believe that it is updated monthly, as was the old system.

When looking at the numbers on the new system, the same applies, the higher the number the worse the company is. I would suggest taking a look at the details of inspections and issues, as it will give you an idea of whether it's driver issues or company issues, especially with the vehicles.

I will say this that I went to the DOTjobhistory.com and paid the money to be able to see my stuff. It is cheap and the info for the DAC(USIS) shows up in 5 to 10 days as well as my MVR was the next day along with my nonexistent criminal record. They do a through check over everything, and then you can use their site to try and find a job. VERY CONVENIENT!!! I was worried about it then I went and spent the money for it, and I know now what is on there and it wasn't as bad as i thought. Not to mention the fact that they have a link so you can dispute with DAC itself, and get a resolution or at the least a rebuttal posted on there for other companies to see.

One company my hubby and I were looking at had some serious vehicle violations that were company problems . . . brake chambers not matched, cracked frames, and all sorts of other scary crap. -
Just checked the one Hubby and I are going to - it was almost all driver stuff - speeding/improper lane change/no seat belt etc... I'm glad that is something we can control - company equipment would be harder to do something about, beside just not working there.

Speeding was the biggest one I believe that I saw but is that speeding on a Driver's logbook, you know when you log it wrong and you get a violation for speeding. I just find it hard for a company driver to get very many speeding tickets on a governed truck. I even looked at JBHunts record b/c I used to work for them and speeding was a big deal there also. When I was there my truck was governed at 61.5. Unless these drivers are getting tickets in 35 mph zones I dont see how speeding could be such a big factor on the FMCSA website where all the info is.
GypsyGirl Thanks this.
