Have you guys ever tried the truck stop right next to the raceway (think it's a Petro) as your exiting out the north end of Vegas? There is an Auto Auction north of the interstate there that I helped install cabling on a few years back. That truck stop there had an Iron Skillet and of course you don't have to deal with Vegas traffic to start the day if you're heading north.

That was really helpful AT. In fact you don't realize how helpful it was. I appreciate you taking time out of your schedule to help me out. Thanks again.

Ok place, that's the only place in Vegas I've stayed at, although I stayed overnite at the terminal before. I also like the fact that I'm out of the way of Vegas traffic in the morning as well...

So I got up and drove to Beaver :biggrin_2559: Utah today and stopped to check my chains since at that point the sun was up FINNALLY!

It turns out I only have 2 super singles and 2 regular singles, so not enough to even legally drive in Colorado with, and of corse the TS didnt sell SS Chains, so I just keept going up I-15 to SLC then jumped on I-80 from there, now acording to the GPS I only added about 30 minutes to the trip by doing this, BUT I think I'm going to save at LEAST that much time by not haveing to crawl up and down all those mountains and sit there and chain. So the few extra miles im driving are going to be counter acted by Fuel/Time/Equipment ware savings as well as I can now deliver on Tue by 11:45am eastern time the latest! instead of 3pm on Wen.

I ended up driving 680miles in 10.75 hours, I made it to the middle of Wyoming, to the Loves TS.

I'm now only 22.5 hours away from the reciever in MI, 1416miles away and I have \/ for hours:

    Sunday 8.5
    Monday 9.5
    Tuesday 7.75

The drive so far has been pretty good, no chains, not very much snow or ice, and little to no traffic!

I did see like 10 4 wheelers wreck hard today haha, not sure why everyone else was going 75mph just fine.....:biggrin_25523:

now time for food! I haven't eatin anything except junk food since Thursday!

wait is it seriously only that little of a difference? fffffuuuuu you just ruined my day man, but i will def remember that for next time. i only made 400 and some change in 8 hours today, well according to my log but it was really more like 8.5. the chains arent even that bad, i got them on in a half hour so i guess im ready to audition for irt or something. the guy behind me only had 2 chains he came up and asked me which he should put them on hahaha.

what kills you up there is the weekend traffic, not so much the chains. at the tunnel you will waste an hour+ easily because %&*&^% cars do not know how to merge.

the roads over in neb are looking pretty clear so hopefully we can all be flying tomorrow.

when the traffic gets really bad CDOT will start metering at the tunnel (ie, they'll close the tunnel for 20 minutes per hour to let downstream traffice subside a bit.

also, when loveland pass is closed, the tunnel is closed at the top of each hour to let the hazmat traffice through.

well i live in denver and when i used to have time go up there a lot to snowboard so i have been through it more than anyone. the thing is about every time i go there is never traffic after the tunnel its all because it goes to 2 lanes after the hill. the only time theres traffic actually backe up that far is like sunday evenings.
