Hey Boss, thanks but I found the receipt. Here's my question: The unit is a little over two months old. Should I request an entire new unit? If they send me a new one, I'm a little confused on how to download my address book to the new one when/if it arrives. Yes, I have backed up my 700 the other day onto the TND Dock. Any suggestions?

BigDaddy, after reading through Rands website and info in the 700 box, I'm confused on warranty info. It appears exchanges are for 30 days only. I will call Rand tomorrow and find out. Pilot has a strict return policy that has frustrated many in the past.

Can anyone tell me the difference between the 500 and 700? If I can not get my 700 fixed I really do not want to spend that much money again for a new 700.

    I believe the 500 is 5" screen and the 700 is a 7" screen.

I know there are more differences than that.

I have the 500. Did alot of research on both and the best I can tell other then the 700 having a bigger screen; it comes with a styles and has a bigger address book. Dieselboss's website has a nice compersion chart of all the trucking GPS's. You could see the diiference betwwen the 500 and 700 there also.

    CT_BigDaddy Thanks this.

Since my tnd700 is back in the shop I am evaluating another brand
The layout and and display is much better on my tnd
Just wish it would provide correct directions and not visit the shop so often

The designers do have the the interface, options and displays down pact.

Since you backed it up (always a good idea) then your custom stuff is saved on the computer. You just use the TND Dock to restore those onto your new unit.

I don't know how Rand decides between either repairing or replacing, but they will take care of it for you. The only painful aspect is the time invloved.
