I am almost to the 1 year mark. I will got to $.34 a mile. I am at $.33.

You only get $.31 to do Walmart and Sam's. Funny, never mentioned that at orientation.

It was a good week this week, a little over 2600 miles. :biggrin_25525:

But the Walmart and Costco accounts are very steady. They are less inclined to take a hit during the slow months.

I was Costco heavy dedicated. Where I took a hit during the slowdown months was backhauls, not primary outhauls. During Jan-Mar, about 40-50% of the backhauls were DH. Since I was on the short miles chart, that hurt alot.

Hey guys I know this is a Swift thread...but when I was with the big blue screw(werner)
I was on the walmart dedicated. They started me out at .32cpm while 48 states drivers were getting .28-30 because they would get more miles. Just saying carry on

I think most of Swifts dedicateds are on the short miles charts. IE: The Costco runs were normally under 300 miles and I averaged .39 (calculating DH into the mix). Oh and the extra penny for running heavy.

And if I'm wrong, don't flame me! Just correct my misconnception!

Rug, the question might not be how much Walmart/Sam's pays, but where you picked that load up. I've run several Walmart runs myself, including delivering a live unload at a Walmart grocery dc this morning, and I haven't noticed any decrease in pay for these loads. The only time I've lost 2 cents was whenever the load actually picked up west of the Mississippi, which I think is BS, but it is what it is.

you're laughing, but its true. Thats why i get a kick out of these super truckers with stickers on their trailer that says, "Say NO to cheap freight". Really?? Just like the UAW workers who want $100 an hour, and everything else. Who do you think is going to pay those higher freight charges or higher paying union jobs? Sure wont be the company. It'll get passed right along to the paying customer. And those eggs will go for $4 a doz. and a gal of milk will cost $7.

but Rug...you do understand that most wal-fart loads are booked round trip...so every stop you make is 'cha-ching' $15. ($30 for the lease ops) so i'm totally happy pulling 350 mi runs with 3 stops. cause with the fuel surcharge, thats about $500.

and that isnt the only reason i want to train...i want to pass along my vast amount of knowledge to young guns who think they know more than me. :laughing3:
