I think quite some time. I remember a story about him knowing about cracked brakes shoes, an Inspection, a ticket and whining about freedoms lost................

Fear and paranoia? The only thing I'm scared of is people like you who support things like the CSA 2010. It's people like you who allow the government to continue to put more restrictions and more taxes on American Truck Drivers. People like you who don't see the liberties lost in these kind of regulations. People like you who are scared of independence. People like you, who can't make decisions for themselves, and have to have a company make all of them for you...

I'm not picking on all company drivers... Just this one. I enjoyed alot of freedom when I was one.. But that was years ago.

First, csa is not new regulations. Its a new point system.

Second, I don't fear csa because I do myh job right anyway.

Third, you don't know me so don't pretend you know "people like me".

And as far as your political spin, you have no clue what I am about. But you probably wouldn't believe me if I told ya so why bother?

You are smoke, but no fire...

Well well, mr super trucker. We all do our jobs. But stuff happens.......If you'd been driving for any amount of time, you'd know this.

Why do you hate truck drivers so much?

Hate? Who said I hate anybody? If you had any idea what I do, you would know that I take up for the truckers of the world. Especially the drivers who have integrity in their lives. Not the ones who point the finger at someone else when they arent happy.

And if doing the right thing to make an HONEST living is being called a super trucker by one who admits that he is an outlaw, so be it...I aint losing any sleep...

Doing what the government says "is right" doesn't give you an honest living or integrity... It only makes you a sheep. If I can, or any other trucker can do the same job, without doing what the government says, But on their own merrits and experience, and do it without killing or injuring anyone, then that gives them integrity.

Just because the government says it's "right" doesn't make it so.. Especially when the government does so many things so wrong.

But you just keep thinking the government is protecting you... And let me know how it works out for you.

Driver, since when are you an expert on what people think? Do you have special powers?

I guess if we lived your way, I guess I could go into a bank and steal a bunch of money.....Yep...There is a kid down the road that likes to play his music loud in his truck late at night while driving by the house. Guess I am good to yank his speakers out of his truck....

When my wife and kids are traveling down the highway, I would feel better about the situation if I knew the drivers around them are driving safe, compliant vehicles. And I would also feel good about the situation if I knew the drivers themselves were 100% legal.

The government says that I should take a 10 hour break. Ok...no problem.
The government says that I should pay my taxes. Ok...no problem.
The government says that my old Dodge should have an inspection, registration, and insurance.....ok...no problem.
The government says that when I talk on my Ham radio, that I should I.D. ever 10 minutes when I am in a QSO. Ok...no problem.

Rules and regulations are there whether we like them or not. It is our job to obey them.

Driving a truck is not a right. It is a privilege. With every privilege, there is a cost.

You don't have to be a truck driver. But you choose to be one.

CSA and the Hours Of Service is apart of our job. Just like the FDA puts restrictions on food manufacturing and restaurants. Just like the FCC has restrictions on TV and radio. The FMCSA has restrictions on us. Its apart of trucking.

Now if you want to make your point to the FMCSA, there is a proposal for changes to the HOS. There is a 60 period to comment on the proposed new HOS. I fully expect you and other drivers to make the comment. Because you know that safety advocate groups like Public Citizen are gonna put in theirs and they hate us.

Here is a link for you to do so: http://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/rules-regulations/topics/hos-proposed/hos-proposed.aspx

So either you can beat a dead horse and whine and complain about our current situation, or you get on top of your game and make your voice be heard.

If you don't comment on the 2 proposals out there (HOS and the cell phone ban), you have no room to be talking.

And as far as integrity goes, here is the definition:
    –noun
    1. adherence to moral and ethical principles; soundness of moral character; honesty.

    2. the state of being whole, entire, or undiminished: to preserve the integrity of the empire.

    3. a sound, unimpaired, or perfect condition: the integrity of a ship's hull.

Cheating on your logbook because of greed is not integrity. It is being dishonest and you are a liar and a thief. Nothing moral about that.

I hate to tell you, but having a drivers license and driving is NOT a privilege. It is an EARNED right just like earning a high school diploma or college degree. States have perpetuated this so that they can go after those whom they think or drinking and refuse to give evidence against themselves. It is a way around the fifth amendment. If you refuse to give evidence against yourself then your "privilege" to drive or operate a motor vehicle can be restricted or taken away. They have gotten around it by classifying a drivers license as a privilege. A privilege can be revoked at any time. A right, whether earned or not, cannot be easily taken away.

No, It's called independence. It's called loving liberty. It's called knowing the difference between right and wrong, and not having to have the government tell you different...

No, you can't take something that doesn't belong to you.. I never said anyone could.

If you HAVE TO LIE to make your case, then your case is nul and void.

That's funny, cause no one used to worry about it before the HOS regs?

If your OK with the government holding your hands and binding others, then you have some serious patriotism issues. This country was founded on teh premise of freedom. The idea that the government wouldn't be the driving force of Americans.. Now, it's the brick wall of liberties.

My job is to haul freight so I can make money and provide for me and my two sons. I don't live for the government. The government keeps me from doing that to the best of my abilities.

I pay for the right and the privilage to drive a truck. Being an O/O, I pay plenty. Not only that, I do it safely.. It may not be like the government says is safe. But I've never had an accident in a semi. I've never injured or killed anyone.... So I must be doing it right.. Even though the government (AND YOU) don't believe it can be done.

That's not true either. I have a bad knee that's considered a pre-existing condition.. So, I'm limited to driving a truck as the only way to make the money I need to support me and my sons... I can do many things. But nothing pays as good as what I'm doing now.. I don't plan on being a road driver forever... Actually, I didn't plan on being out here this long. But stuff happens.

The HOS is a regulation that the government places on truck drivers for revenue. A long time ago, it might have been to benefit truckers from pushy dispatchers and brokers... But not anymore... The insurance companies do a good job of making sure safe drivers are hired and fired from companies.. And making sure that O/O's with their own authority are safe as well.

I don't need an HOS regulation to tell me when I'm sleepy... I don't need a piece of paper to tell me when to go to work and when to go to sleep...
After all, it all boils down to trust anyways. So why does anyone need a piece of paper to dictate to them their entire working carreer...

Explanation of the "trust"... When we go into the sleeper, the DOT trust's that we are getting the rest we need to drive the next shift. Now, we could spend 10 hours in the bunk, watching TV, reading or playing video games... And after that 10 hours, no matter what we do, we are legal to drive. Right.. And so if the DOT trust's us to sleep when we are in the bunk, why can't they trust us to sleep when we are sleepy?

My voice is being heard.. Both my congressmen, my representitive and people at the Texas Libertarian Party have heard me. And most of all, it's being heard by hundreds if no thousands of other drivers every week when I get on the CB and talk about the Libertarian party, and how the republicrats are destroying this country and this industry.
