One of the best ones I've ever seen was a DOT Bear in North Little Rock.
In his rear window, not only was there the flashing arrows, left and right, to direct traffic, but also there was a flashing sign like they use at air ports to direct planes that said "Follow Me". He lead the truck to an off ramp and stopped.
Not hard to figure out what he wanted and VERY SAFE!!!!!

I must have had one of them follow me signs on my trailer a few times!

TrooperOne.
I'd say what ever way is safest. I'm not slamming you, but I've seen troopers that are worse drivers than the guy they're stopping.
What ever you decide to do, DON'T do this. I'm going west bound on I40 in Tennesee with 43K in the back. I see "supertrucker bubba" coming up on my left very quickly. All "I" see is this idiot, not the "super trooper" tailgating bubba. Bubba cuts me off, I'm watching the rear of his supertruck just missing me. He then hits his brakes, and "supertroop" decides to get between us. Suffice it to say, both of these so called professionals were lucky to be going away not dead. Luckily, the hammer lane was open with no other idiot tailgating the trooper. Took me a few minutes to gather myself. I've had troopers pull right out from their hiding spots elsewhere as well.
I guess what I'm saying, is be aware of "ALL" traffic around you, before you get focused on the bad actor. Big truck drivers usually do, and no less should be expected from the cops.
On another side, Please do what you can to nail the "supertrucker". Believe me, most of us want them off the road as much as yourself. -
As for Front or BAck your Choice. Perfered neither.
Attitude, I am one who will give respect unless given a hard time my self. Only once had I had an attitude with an Officer, and he was in the wrong. Wrong attitude (as someone Spit on his Donut) and for the reason of pulling me over. Remember a Truck can not stop on a Dime. I had a Light turn yellow after I had passed my point of no return. I was doing 50 in a 55. His ticket read Ran a red Light, (when I was under it it was still yellow changed afte I got through) and said I was doing 70. Then he gave me the Attitude. After he gave me a ticket, He almost caused an acciedent. I went to court on that one mainly cause of his attitude. When I was called he went to the Proscutor and changed his story. -
I would rather you flash your lights from behind me. i am always trying to watch my rear as well as the front, reason being, tailgaters, you policeman, and that ole ambulance driver trying to save a life. I believe its safer for me to put my 4 ways on as I do if I'm being stopped to let you know I am slowing down slowly so as not to cause a danger to you or me by stopping fast, with your lights on your cruiser behind me letting everyone know you are pulling me over. You may then pull inside of my truck for protection,I don't care. Every driver should be aware of his or her surroundings,I have avoided many problems by watching behind me every few minutes, especially later at am when the bars are closing up.

Why did Trooper one make a post and leave? He hasn't been back since. I was hoping he would help out around here a little.
-
He is still trying to read my log book.
-
Now that's funny right there.

Still around, I didn't think I would cause such an extended thread. I know the way to stop a truck but just wanted to hear how others might like or dislike.

trooper one, wish I knew which one you are, would enjoy the chat, except not in the cruiser ,how micky d's on 95,you know what state. Take care and be careful out there. When they gonna take the 45 signs down on 84 where the roads all finished, just wondering, they are all flying thru there now.
