I am a new member - thanks for all the info on this thread. I am particularly interested in employement with Roehl.
I received mixed information from recruiters (phone / email). I will have to attend the training course before hitting the road. What options are availible for a new graduate?? I was told by one recruiter that 7/4-7/3 was available right out of school, then the other told me no. Is there a requirement that you start full time OTR before you can do a Hometime Plus program??
Thanks for the feedback.

miamimc,I cant really answer that question,However I did have a chance to talk to a new guy with no experience who was on the 7-3 7-4 program.I hired on with them and went right on the 7-7 program as an experienced driver.I believe the requirments are that you live within 100 miles of a terminal or drop yard.

Well, I surely did not record it, but confronted the TMC recruiter when she (yup, a woman) came to the driving school again. She literally kicked me out of the room!

I look forward to the training i will receive. I know it will be a bigadjustment to my life since i will be gone from home away from my wife for some time. I know what it is to be away from home and family since i was in the us navy before. I love driving and look forward to seeing our great country. I am going to give my best and give it 100% effort.anyone out there going to ellenwood georgia this wednesday with roehl? if so let me know

Hey Rich4Trucking,
I completed orientation in Marshfield last Thursday May 3rd. Was sent home to wait for a driver trainer to begin Evolution 1. It's Tuesday the 8th and I'm still waiting. Had a not so pleasent discussion with Roehl yesterday about the situation and a driver trainer is supposed to pick me up today.
I got the impression that right now Roehl has far more students coming out of orientation than they have driver trainers and they are sending the student drivers home after orientation to wait. Just wanted to give you a heads up that that me be a possibility.
Everyone at Roehl has been extremely polite, courteous, and professional. Marshfield was beautiful. VERY nice complex. However, I did get a chance to experience Gary, IN yard. WOW what a difference from Marshfield.

Do you think this is oversupply limited to Roehl (because they are a good company) or are has there been an overall industry increase in trainee drivers?

Hey best of luck. I wish you the best. Maybe we will run into each other onthe road or at the terminal one day. I am leaving for orientation wednesday morning. the adventure begins.
