They tell people if you do not want to use rope then you may buy bungee straps. It was your freinds choice to buy the straps he was not required too. hopefully your friend took the straps with him when leaving they were his to take.

OK thanks he failed to tell me that part. He did take the straps. And as a side note....I can't completely fault the company on the miles as I know how he is and if he acts with his DM the way he has in the past, he probably didn't make a favorable impression and one that doesn't exactly make people want to do things for him.

Good luck with Arrow. I hope it goes well for you. You have a great attitude. Give good ETA's to your DM and have no service failures (this guy I was talking about had a habit of delivering late [never his fault according to him]) and the company knows they can depend on you. And in the event things don't work out, leave them professionally (not quitting under a load or making them come for their truck) and use them as experience and find another company. But I wish you well with them.

I have offers from arrow, may, watkins shepherd, davis trasport, Every new guy leaves after ninty days, and another outfit that may be o/o driving one of his trucks. just weighing all of my options with all what would your choice be out of those? the o/o not many people heard of him they go by stone mountain trucking they called from local landline registered to personal home number. -
Well i don't know how they are now. it's been 10 years since i drove for them and they were growing then. But they were the first company i drove for out of driveing school and treated me good back then. THey like any company have there problems i'm sure. ANd your attitude will have allot to do with you makeing it in any company. Be posotive and be on time and be customer freindly and you will allways go far in the trucking industry. I am glad to see they finaly pay for tarping when i was there they didn't and i tarped some of the darndest stuff because it was free to the customer. I was also a trainer with them for a couple of years and they had a good training program then i am not sure how it is now. Heard some bad stories but those are just stories. i know some of the drivers have been there for 20 years or better so they are doing something right for sure. Any way with any company do your home work and remember as a newby you will be at there mercy for the first couple of years since you have to have allot of experiance to start makeing you self more marketable. My son will be going to school in a month or 2 and i gave him the same advise. Since he is only 21 his choices are going to be limited as well so just swallow hard and hang on for a year or 2 and then things will open up if you have a good record and a good attitude.

hey Pyro
What has your takehome pay been ? How much advances have you taken? You have had to actually argue with them for home time?
If it was me I would of reminded them for the entire week before my hometime. Most company's you just have to beat it in their heads about rembering what day you requested to be home. I hear that common complaint about homtime by alot of drivers on here. -
Don't waste your time with Arrow.
ISS Rating for Arrow is 97... that should at least tell you something about the company.
The DMs don't care, try getting home... that's a joke. They treat you like crap and then when you tell them to shove it, they threaten to "punish" you. Of coarse things like this happen with most trucking companies, but Arrow is horrible. Far worse than any other company that I've seen. The new President Thomas Witt is supposedly trying to change things, but the only thing that has changed is that now there is a turf war in the middle of all the usual crap you have to deal with.
Don't waste your time with Arrow, there are far better companies to work for. -
Scott, my husband has been driving for Arrow for a year and a half, true, some things you are saying are true, but others may only be true for you, I have been riding with him since day one. Since we have been here, we have had slow loads, but lately, we have been running nonstop. Our Dm gets us home on the day we want to be home every time, but we only go home once a month, if you want to be home every weekend, why don't you check out Builders Transportation, out of Memphis or Mavrick. All your complaints about Arrow sounds childish, maybe you should request a different Dm...my hubby gets treated great by the company, but he has 28 years driving expirence no accidents, so that might be the difference there. You are complaining about the company, but a lot of that fault rests on the drivers shoulders, hubby and I keep our truck clean and polished, and we have added about 7 thousand dollars worth of chrome and extras to our truck, Arrow knows we respect them, and in turn, they respect us, respect has to start with you. We have seen the way other Arrow drivers treat their trucks and Arrow's trailers, some of the trucks you can't tell if they are white anymore. I don't know about anyone else, but Arrow is the best company we have worked for, and Hubby has worked for a lot of companies, you think Arrow is bad, you should try working for one that your idletime has to be below 30%, we have, Arrow at least has put idleaire at our terminal in tulsa, and look how many drivers have torn them up, if you show respect, you get respect. And also, the tarp pay is $30 now, best of luck to you, but if you show Arrow the kind of respect in person that you have shown on here, it's no wonder your being treated this way. And that's just like, we wave at every other Arrow we see, and most of them stick thier noses in the air like they don't see us, where has the comraderie and respect gone??
