It's mostly ice down here. If Central calls me to come in, I doubt I'll make it.

It's all snow up here but we're starting to get the light freezing rain so we'll see how the roads are tonight when it's time to head to work lol.

Sounds nice. I do something very similar to this, the only difference is when you cover your meat and veggies with water, then you add 1 to 2 jars of a beef gravy on top of it and forgo the cornstarch.... Then let it stew for about an hour.... Gives the liquid more of a beef flavor. I also cook a hamburger stew on the stove that would work in a crock, but I dont have the recipie handy....

You guys stay warm and safe out there....

I use canned sliced carrots, canned sliced or diced potatoes, one onion (to protect those around me, (the canned goods supply the water), and gravy mix in a bag for the flower, which adds to the taste. That way there is no need to have fresh produce in the truck, and the contents will keep until you buy the meat.

That stuff is good, but check the sodium content, then look at the serving size, multiply sodium content by serving size, and you get total sodium per can. These crooks will show like maybe 3 or 4 servings per small can, which makes the total salt 3 or 4 times what they list. A very deceptive way to hide large salt content.

    EXACTLY!

I figured that out way back in the 80's when I was competing in Bodybuilding. You gotta scrutinize the labels because they want you to BUY their stuff and are trying to make nice with the trend of healthier eating.

Thats like eating a box of cookies or something labeled "FAT FREE!". (What about all the sugar?)
