I liked the 63 mph. I felt safe driving down the road and it didn't bother me at all to get passed constantly.

Roehl trucks are set at 61mph with cruise on and 63 with it off. I know for a fact that they are not slower than Swift trucks because I pass them everyday in my Roehl truck.

I sure wish the OP's in the forum would come back and update us on their experiences after the "new" wears off. Is this guy still with the company? Is he still having a good time? Everybody loves their new employer, but what's happened to him since December 2010?

    Inquiring minds want to know.

    Everett and DrtyDiesel Thank this.

I see you're close to Big Blue in Michigan. Roehl is one of my top three potential employers when I retire, so here are questions, if you know the inforation:
    1. Is their driver academy "good?" I can afford to pay for my own CDL training, but if my employer will do it for me and isn't going to kick me out at the first sign of weakness, why spend the $5,000?
    2. Do you get to drive your truck home? I'm south of Grand Rapids and would be based in Gary, but the 3-hour drive to/from work wouldn't be all that much fun, especially in our Michigan winters.
    3. Do you get the miles you want or need?
    4. Is the company as good as their marketing material seems to make them?
    5. Do you pass by the Grand Rapids area much?
Roehl isn't one of the biggest carriers and that is attractive to me, so whatever info you can share would be appreciated.

I am pre-hired with Roehl. I wasn't sure about going with them or not, but so far everyone I talk to seems to like them. Anyone know how their O/O program is?

The o/o program is awesome typically I make $1200+ a week after everything is paid. There is a good thread on here about it called "The good the bad, the honest truth of a new roehl lease operator" start at the first page and go thru and it will answer most every question you could have. I'm telling you now though if you arent willing to stay out of the house and run for at least 25+ days at a time then it may not be the best choice. I avg a little over 3000mi a week. The easiest way to do well with it is to become a fuel management expert. I don't run over 60mph unless I absolutely have to. Our trucks will run 75mph and there is no cut back on HP or rpm governor. Don't turn down loads unless you don't have hours to run them. And don't gripe and complain. You do all that and and you will be successful. :biggrin_25525:

I want to work there for a year or two and then buy my own truck. I definitely look forward to being out 25+ days, maybe even 60+, i just love this career field.

    Everett Thanks this.
