They sent a lot of the permit packages quite a while ago. Hubby's had been here for about 4 weeks before he came home for Christmas. Thankfully I knew they were coming and the grandkids did not get ahold of them when getting the mail!!

IFTA license for 2011
IFTA stickers for 2011
Various alcohol and haz mat permits
We have a binder of permits that is about an half an inch think. Some of them don't expire, some of them expire in the middle of the year, but most of them expire 12/31. So we have to get the permit pack to still be legal on 1/1. -

Hi ironpony. I am new to trucking and will be going to my orientation with Prime next month. I have been sitting here reading the Prime board and many of your posts. You have answered quite a few of my questions already. I still have some things I am unsure about. I am wondering if you might be able to give me some insight. I have never actually driven a stick shift car let alone a semi. Do you think that will be a problem. I am a great driver with no accidents. I have always wanted to be a truck driver. I do know a bit about trucking because my dad has been one since I was a little kid. I think I am just a bit nervous about getting started and hoping that I will make it. Thanks for all your great advice that you have posted along the way.
Thanks

Hey James...
There's a little coordination you have to get down with the clutch and when you shift, and then the whole deal on when you shift in terms of speed and engine rpm. It shouldn't take you long to get the hang of it.
IMO, driving a manual in a car is harder. Good luck, you should do just fine.
