for all the people that accuse this of being racist....it sadly does hold a lot of truth at a lot of stores and truck stops all across the country.

I was on the road for 6 years and when I got off I took a job at the Pilot in San Antonio working the fuel desk for a few months. That was back in 04, but if you have questions...post them and I will get back to you.

What's so sad about it? Would you rather foreigners be holding down jobs as productive members of society, or just go on welfare with all of our own home-grown trash?

What is sad is the QUALITY of work/establishments that some people run.

Now that TA/Petro have upgraded their towels by supplying drivers with TWO newer towels, do you suppose you could convince them to start using FABRIC SOFTNER?
New towels are good......but not so much when they smell like the deep-fryer and feel like a canvas paint-tarp.

I was told over 30 years ago by real bonified "old-timers" that "civilians" know where they work and know where they live and know how to get from home to work (and back), but couldn't tell you what's three blocks outside their route, in either direction.
That hold's true to this day.

General Petro questions about the showers:

    1. I don't fuel at Petros so getting that upgrade to Platinum for being there frequently isn't going to happen. However, is it possible to buy a Platinum level shower? I've always wondered how those were different than the regular ones.

    2. How about a shelf or something in the shower to hold toiletries? I don't go in there with just a bar of soap. I have my razor and shave gel, shampoo and conditioner, and then the bar of soap. To have those things within easy reach while I shower usually means a few things are balancing on that little strip of metal called the shower door.

..or perhaps there were shower organizers (that hang on the shower head pipe) and they just got rusty or broken and weren't replaced? Hey, I can see from a realist stand point that if you did provide shower organizers and people either stole them or broke them by misuse why bother replacing them.

Not all showers are created equal and yes there are some that provide shelves to hold additional items. Some don't.

The sad part is that these "foreigners" as they have been refered to seem to have absolute zero pride or care in their establishments a lot of the time particularly the truck stops. There is a very high ratio of these particular foreign owned truckstops and fuel stops that are about 2 steps away from just needing to be shut down by health departments and bulldozed over for many numbers of reasons.I am sure that a large portion of the posters on this board attest to having run across a few of these places.

Is it because they have "zero pride", or is it because the properties they manage to buy is already falling in on itself?
