Wasn't AZ the state that was citing drivers who were using their laptops as GPS units a couple years back?

I have no problems with ADOT...

I have been stopped twice in the last year and given a L3 at Topock and a L1 at Texas Canyon.....No problems....put my sig on the dotted line....and I was on my way......

Btw....AZ is a piece of cake....Try running through OR with a permit load....Now that is bullsheyat......

The next time you see a driver pulled over by DOT, ask the driver for the reason they were stopped. If it is bogus, keep his personal information and coordinate going to court with him as an "expert" witness. We need to fight this corruption together, because if we don't they will systematically tear us apart, one by one. The driver that has received the ticket needs to pay you 1 dollar. When he goes before the judge, he can say honestly that he has hired you as an expert witness to refute the charges brought against him. Be prepared to be cross examined by the court, but I have found that 3 plus years experience is usually sufficient to satisfy the court.

Az is also writing tickets for not having reflective tape on the uppermost/highest point or corner of the top of your sleeper.

    Big fun huh?

Get out the "Green Book"....Look at the illustrations for proper markings.....Follow the regs.....

Drive through the coops...Smile and wave.....You're compliant and you have nothing to worry about......

This isn't a "bogus" ticket that we're talking about here...These conspicuity reflectors are required on all tractors manufactured after 7/1/97 and are required on all trailer regardless of age.
I've seen guys take them off of their trucks and toss them because they don't look good.
I have a set that I bought for my truck that blend right in with the flap hangers and are still highly visible when the truck is parked.
It may be ########### that they're "looking" for this as a revenue generator but it's not a "bogus" ticket.
Personally...I want my truck to be a visible as possible when it's parked with the lights off so I don't have a problem with the reflectors.

Nothing new on this one...been that way the 16 years I've been in the rigs!
Well who would have thought...55 is the posted speed limit (maximum) anything above the legal limit is,... now you will find this simply amazing...is a traffic violation! Who'd have thought?
And you were there to witness the reason and the citation/infraction? Or was this as in many cases "word of mouth" without verification?!
Again, "word of mouth" and probably not verified! I need to find the section of the vehicle code regs or the FMCSA section regarding etc, etc! Should be an interesting yadda yadda read!
I am fairly certain that all these "keep it straight" issues were (or should have been) addressed in whatever truck school you attended, and the orientation at whatever company you drive for covers the same thing. Just how many times does a driver need to be told or reminded that the rules are there for a reason. and the reason is not "made to be broken"!

As for the trucks getting "visited" on the side of the road in AZ...or any state...I tend to think there is a reason they are getting the "visit" and I don't think it starts with "Well there is a driver I will Harass today"...I tend to believe there was "probable cause" or maybe speeding, following too close...or any of a hundred legitimate reasons for "the visit"!
