During orientation, I don't recall anyone saying I needed to have the BOL# and Commodity on my daily logs. But its come to my attention that you DO need this information. And that DOT will write you up for not having it on there.
Maybe it was covered, and I was sleeping during that part. OR maybe it was assumed we already knew.. (It *was covered in my CDL class afterall..) I don't know., but I've been writing mine down under the "Remarks" section now since there's no field setup for it on our logs.
Anyway, just a heads up.

I highlighted document to show that accompanying documents MAY suffice....I've never seen anyone write the BOL number on their log and maybe I've been doing it wrong as well as I was never told I needed to add that info...If DOT needs info on a previous trip where I don't have the associated documents with me any longer, the company can send it to them...
Hopefully someone that's more knowledgeable than myself will chime in and we'll learn together... -
If you haven't taken the time to read that little green book,
you really should....it will save you a ton of money !!!!! -
Thats what your trip number is on there for.....
American TruckerI am medicineman Thanks this. -
If you are getting written up by a DOT for that.
You have ready ticked them off and is now looking for shieat to bust your aszz.
I have been inspected many times and I only put the shippers name. You can look through 10 years of my logs and check.
I have never been written up or even a verbal warning for a Bol #
This is starting to SMELL like. BS.BNR32 Thanks this. -
That's what I figured....I am medicineman Thanks this.

No, with the new csa2010, it is something they have found to get revenue. After all, does the BOL # really affect safety?
-
Nah, I was inspected by WSP last week or 2 weeks ago now, I took in my log with my BOL my phys. card and my log as well as reg. etc. etc. and it was never stated that this was required on my Daily Log, I'm going to raise my BS flag on this one. Thanks. TD24

that's been a rule before CSA 2010 came around, I've seen others written up for it a few years back. If you get the right guy it's hard to say what they'll nail you for.
