i knew a guy that drove at us express and he drove automatics. come to think of it he was probably the dumbest and slowest guy i ever encountered. he actually crashed 2 trucks in a week where i work. one of them was out of commission for almost a month being fixed, the other nothing happened to it, he caught the side of a pepsi truck. real good driver lol.

i probably wont get it but ill call them anyway. if i have to i will save up the money, besides i wanna stay at my company for a little while. i put an apartment in my house so i was just gonna rent it out and in a year i'll have the money for truck school, plus for that extra year it'll mean i was at my current job for 2 years and it'll be that much better on my resume. and like i said with your situation i'd just take the hire paying job, you're probably gonna jump ship in a year anyway so just look at it like a learning experience if anything.

Thank you very much Jonny! This is very important to me. I am always looking for the future and not the present. I know this isn't a get rich quick career. It's about knowing your role as a rookie and taking what you can get to get yourself a better job further down the road (no pun intended).

Dude do it! Don't just call them go there in person. No offense but you are a 23 year old kid. I don't see how you could be making enough money to not qualify for this. I would go down there and fill out what you need to fill out and go through with the whole process. It will save you a lot of money.

I'm sure USX is a good starter company and great for new teams from what I understand. Its just mastering that shifting, understand RMS Ratio to road speed, listening to the engine and feeling it is a skill once mastered will be very vaulable. I had codriver for a year, that was such a rough shifter he would jerk me right of the bunk. He came from an auto only company, and I worked with him for almost 3 months before I just gave up and let him do it his way. The main reason the team broke up. When your team driving you need to learn how to make soft corners, not jerk and rev the crap out of the truck. When I would drive solo my mileage was 7.25 a gal, when we drove as a team it was 5.5 and we got rode all the time by the company. He would wind it out in all the low gears, and alway miss the 4th-6th gear up shift and jam and wiggle back in to 5th, not realizing it was in high range.....made me sick.

USX bought a bunch of 10 Speeds. I know a team that recently turned in their 2010 Cascadia Automatic for a new 10 speed. I have no idea what the future holds but everyone talks about these golden companies for experienced drivers. Talking to other teams at USX, it is clear to me that we can pretty much count on making $120,000 second year and more in the following years if we stay. So I am not looking to make this a short time commitment. This, of course, could change but we are pretty pleased with the company and the people we are working with so far.

LOL, your eloquence is impressive. Being insulted by a moron is very painful but I will do my best to carry on. You certainly showed me!
