Well no flat bedding for me with Swift! Got message last night that there were no routes running n Mich that would get me home for my home time. Really stinks cause I had my jeart set on FB with Swift. Offered to set me up in the van division but told her I wanted to explore a few other options. Got accepted into TMC's program but have to have an updated sleep apnea study first. Decisions, decisions!

I spoke with my recruiter yesterday, she said I can go right into flats. I live about 2.5 hrs from Laredo, hope that all works out. Thanks for the great post, and to everyone for the help.

I got hooked up today with some brand new all black lumber tarps. They actually look sharp with Swift stenciled in Yellow on them. Now i can't wait to get a lumber load.

My understanding is that they didnt have enough freight coming out of Michigan to where they could get me home time. I could jion up but it might be some time before they could get me home. Was pretty bummed but now it looks like I am going with Stevens. I like the fact that they have to miles to keep you rolling and up to date equipment. Not to mention I have some personal goals I want to obtain and it feels like it will be a good fit. -
schmud0811, you still liking it with swift?
Do you ever get through Montgomery,AL? I live about 14 miles north of montgomery, off of I-65 exit 181, i can see the interstate from my front door.
?...If i went with swift as a flatbedder(which is what i hope to do, regardless of company) what terminal would i be based out of for them? Keeping all options open, there seem to be alot of good flatbed companies out there, and some ok ones to start out with, just weighing the pros and cons with all the companies out there....ie benefits/pay/hometime/take truck home/not take truck home(doesnt matter to me really as i have a secure place to park it if need be)/ everything that i have read on here...which has been a wealth of knowledge/insight to the industry....but with most forums......you cant believe everything you read about every company(seems to be mixed opinions about every company out there on here.....
Thanks in advance!! -
Bama- you would most likely be out of Greer, SC if you went flatbed. If you were vans, probably Decatur, GA.
Schmud- hope things are going better for you than me. My 2010 Freightliner just went down with massive engine failure. They're putting me in an automatic Volvo van truck for a week or two until I can get to Gary and switch back into a flatbed truck.alex94 Thanks this. -
