as a company driver I went out with a trainer from rockwall tx drove to 400 miles for a drop off at a coke warehouse scheduled for 9 pm friday
guess what
Scheduling error by Transam the warehouse closed at 5 pm
had to sit there out side of the gate until monday 9 am
my trainer is an owner operator so he is pissed
monday got 1400 miler they just told us this because we were mad about what happen so we are heading to pick up about 200 miles away when we make the pick up
we get a message saying that the 1400 miler changed
to sitting again
to make a long story short
Transam is full of ########
Too much sitting and not enough spinning

Done with my coach and back for testing. Coach was actually a good trainer. No complaints about that. I'm just glad it's over. Too small a space for two grown men no matter how well you get along. And the lease preaching began right out of the gate today. No surprise. And it's no wonder why people sign. They make you afraid you're gonna starve to death if you don't. But no way will I do it no matter what. Overall a good experience with the company. Getting used to being away from home is the hardest part. But that's the same no matter what. After a week or two that got easier. Hope to be rollin by Thursday.

I'd lease on with them, but add an addendum to their lease:
Driver is guaranteed at least 2800 miles per week driving the I-40 corridor and SOUTH. In the event that this is not attained not due to driver availability or mechanical breakdowns, company shall re-imburse driver up to the 2800 mile minimum.
Only way I'd sign it. I'd sign it, but then, they won't.
Now its THEM that won't sign the lease. -
I have read a few stories on here degrading Trans Am.... And well i dont get it why some of your guys that complain that you are not making money? Well its probably something you are doing wrong there partner,I am a lease driver for them, from day 1 i loved it , the Training staff, Tony, Kevin in Rockwall, are good and tell you information you need to know , and if you take the advice they give u, u will be making "stupid money" like i am , Now i am 23 years old , just out of trucking school, and i avarage $900 to a grand a week. and im not lieing either, My work ethics are good , I never fool around like some guys do at truck stops, i deliever early and pick up early when i can, I only drive 60mph just so i can get 7 plus mpg's. there is no need to go any faster... think about it if you avg 3000 miles a week you go 65 your cover that in 46 hours , and get probably 5 maybe less miles per gallon, you go 60 , yeah you will cover 3000 miles in 50 hours (4 hours more) but you will get better mpgs, some guys think they need to driver faster to get more money, well wind, mountains, physics, weight all goes into effect, Who won the race? The tortise or the hair? I believe the Tortise did. I run in to alot of guys and %70 of them say blah blah this company blah i dont make money, Well if you dont then why you driving for them? i may be young but i know what i am doing , Just because you being in this for 20 plus years doesnt mean u are good at it, you have to drive smarter not harder doe doe. If a 23 year old can make almost a grand a week (after lease payment, fuel, etc) with a avg of 3000 miles then , thats just says that Trans Am does not set anyone up for failer, Its just the person behind that wheel, is failing, dont blame a good company for YOUR mistakes. when ever i have a problem, Trans Am is always there (maybe not instant) but there to help me such as a break down, or something. I would recommend Trans Am to anyone only with GOOD WORK HABITS because if your work ethics SUCK dont work for them, your only wasting your time. My goal is to pay off this truck, and continue working for them, and eventually buy another truck, and hopefully start a truck driving school in my home town, because to be sucessful you need good training, i believe i have that, Yes i dont know it all(to you that are thinking this punk kid been doing this for a long time), no i dont i admit it , but i purposly sit in truck stops listen to guys complain moan and groan. and then i listen to guys that are happy and loving life and there job. I study trucking, Laws and regulations, i try to gather all the knoledge i can about this "trade". I believe you can be sucessful at Trans Am or even other companys If you just know what you are doing before doing it, "talk to the happy truckers" they would be more then happy to tell you how to be sucessful, Dont hang around the guys that conplain, cause there the ones who dont make money, or run illegal, and to you guys that run illegal out there, and you know who you are, Karma is a B, Remember that..... One thing is most important out here is to be profesional, to everyone, shippers recievers, disbatcher, driver mgrs everyone. because you can get more done with "sugar" then "Vinagar". and please take a shower there driver you stink, i mean i dont get it i have 10 yes one zero shower credits, i take a shower a day, "most the time" why cant you take a Shower, and ot wear oil soaked purple bleach stained sweats with a white wife beater that turned brown with the green pit stains. come on now, no wonder you cant make money, and yes driver you if you read this you will remeber me, im the guy that you called a punk kid that didnt know what i was doing, untill i showed you how much i made, o yeah you dropped 2 twenty dollar bills at the fuel island you were at after you left, well to bad its mine now..... i tryed to tell you on the CB but you just called me a punk stilll so o well finders keeps right? Anyways Trans Am is %100 GOOD.

You dont drive for them so YOU dont know what they treat anyone like. -
I really wish I had the time right now to go into detail and dive into your "colorful" complaints about your fellow drivers but I've got a run to finish. I'll finish with this later as I'm sure you'll smash your head into the keyboard again and bash out a reply to me. Till then keep the shiney side up.
-+harleymanjax Thanks this.
