Question about John Christner lease, do they really have a good program and also help you out, make sure your getting the miles you need? home time you need? I run alot of I-5, and I dont see alot of JCT on this corridor, Im assuming they run alot of east/west? What is there major lanes? What is there average length of haul? Last question, compared to other company leases, do they have the better deals?Thank You for any info regarding JCT....

Please Please stay away from a lease program from any company. No company will guarantee certain amount of miles. Crunch numbers. Remember you will be responsible for fuel, truck payment, truck ins., disability ins., health ins., truck maintenance keep track of taxes. Consider you family situation. Single vs providing for a family. You have to be consistently be around 3000 plus miles to make a good paycheck. Lease programs benefit the company and not the driver. You will be paying for a older truck with lots of miles on it and will never own it. If you research the many posts on here you will see from other drivers that lease programs suck.

NEVER NEVER get your freight and you truck in the same place. I don't care who you are any time you put that much control in the hands of the same person you will loose. Try the first time buyer program from Freighliner before you go that route. Is it any good? its got to be better than a lease purchase from a trucking company that controls your destany. There are some private leaseing companies that lease trucks and you can go about any where you want. Do your research and do the math and figure out which way to go but do what is right for you not the company.

JCT says you lease brand new truck (choice between Freightliners, KW, INT etc...) for 5 years, and pay one dollar at the end of lease and its yours! I have talked to drivers on the road that like them, thats why Im asking on a couple boards..

What are the truck payments each week? What do they consider a "new" truck. Still even if they do offer these trucks, what guarantees do you have that you will make the necessary amount of miles to cover all the expenses in a leasing program and still bring home decent money. Again it also depends on what you consider decent money.
Personally I don't care what kind of truck they offer, I wouldn't touch a lease purchase program with a ten foot pole.

I know someone who almost went there, he got to orientation... saw the equipment and turned around. They wanted to lease him a Pete with over 180k miles on it and he would have still had to pay a deposit. Their brandnew equipment (when he left they said they were getting in a shipment of trucks) is all returned from previous people. At least thats what he told me.... Lease Purchase programs in my mind are bad juju, but thats from a standpoint of a wife.

Thank you for the replies, I dont hear much about JCT, and the difference with lease purchase with them is they say there trucks are NEW, not used... again, thank you !! there seems to be a catch everytime... Drive Safe and enjoy your summer!
