I don't have a thread yet... figured it made more sense to wait until I actually start school. But I am reading the DMV manual, just to try to let all that information percolate BEFORE I have to learn it.
Enjoy your evening!! -
Think I'll go take a gander at your blog next.

So I gotta say, you guys got another avid follower on your travels. Between yesterday and today ive read id say 80 to 90% of this thread. I might make my own once I get started into school. I am going to a local college ( baker college) and will be taking classes their. Bad thing is I cant pre-register till Febuary 14th. But you bet your butts ill be there the 14th
After reading this im glad im not the only one that has the bundle of nerves. At times I kinda doubt bein able to do this but I think thats just cause I still have a good amount of waiting to do even before registering. And im one of them people who over think things so that don't help matters either lol. But I figure this might be a good field to get into being there's not many options where im at, ( just outside of "lovely" Flint, Michigan) My plan is to stick it out for the year then try to find something driving the sprinter vans. But it looks like im gonna have to do the trucking route for a good solid year, which should be one hell of a experince. I look forward to reading more of team klingon
G'luck with your schooling
Lady K Thanks this. -
Thanks Freight Train
Truck driving is a huge change for most - so of course there is going to be nerves. Plus the unknown of can I do it comes into to play. (at least for me) I looked at everything I would have to memorise and learn - holy manure batman!! I did do some reading/studying before heading to school... Klingon did up some links that I could read and learn from. I didn't really push myself before school, but as time got closer and closer, I read more and more - LOL! Now I'm glad I did... I had a 'general' idea of what different parts were and what they are for before I got to school... now the school I'm at is an excellerated school, so they don't go into detail - but at least I know what they are talking about when they say 'glad hand' and I'm not thinking they are talking about something that's at the end of my arm - LOL!
Also YES do your own thread!! Its fun - I am really enjoying this one!! Not only am I able to look back and see where we came from - but the input and suggestions have been invaluable!! -
Thats kinda how I am right now. Im kinda thinking man can i do this? Specially bein on the forums here 80% of me says I can but I just always have doubts. But most times I just do what I got to do. And I think after this post I may start my own thread just for s**ts and giggles to try and make a bigger educated guess
Im pretty sure I can do it

Lol thanks! I been told quite a few times that I got the good attitude about doing this. And like you I been doing a lot of research ahead of time just to try and get my feet wet. Even watched some videos on youtube about backing up as well. As its been said before I figure heck if im going to try and learn to drive such a monterious vehicle I want to get an idea of what im getting myself into ahead of time that way when I get in class im not like do what now? lol
