That's a lot to happen in just 3 months dude! I used to hear that if you could make it on the road for 3 months then you were good to go but in your case you may want to find another career. Just saying. Sounds like everything that happened to you were all preventable accidents.
You got to look in your mirrors anytime moving the steering wheel at all.
When you had a tire blow out, you really should have known it was you. I have had several trailer tires blow and all I was doing was cruising down the interstate. If you were going through a toll booth at prolly about 5-10 mph and one blew. How in the #### did you not know it was you? Those things are normally very loud when they blow. PGT is gonna have fun on your DAC!!!!! -
Here give this site a try, it lists many of the trucking companies in you home state and also possibly in the city in which you live or that surround you.
Green bay, Wisconsin Trucking Companies - Transport Freight Shipping Service Companies -
Chopp,
I can understand what you are going through. Most will come and bash a company and not admit their mistakes. You have. One thing I would consider is befriending a couple truck drivers with experience. Move on and find a company who can give you a second chance.

PainNdaNeck Thanks this. -
and where does it say i almost took off his bumber i just barely hit it read it better .the only damage i done to my truck the hole three months was bending the two wheels nothing more . i beleave you are jealous that i drive better then you after only 3 months it is ok you will get better.

Firstly, if you are going to go the 'your just jealous I...' route you might want to run your posts through spelling and grammar check. After all if you want to come of condescending to someone who probably has less 'incidents' in 3 years and 200,000 miles then you did in 90 days and 14,000 miles you should be able to at least spell bumper. It would be easier to 'read it better' if your posts had some semblance of spelling and grammar to them. I don't claim to be a grammar or spelling master but good god man! There is spell check built in!
Secondly while your escapades in a truck seemed minor to you, they are a sign to the company that you are a liability to their BASIC stats. Your willingness to discount the magnitude of your bloopers is also a bad sign. You only bent two wheels and hit another truck. That's basically what you are saying right?
That's three strikes in 90 days, a standard company practice these days is 1 strike in your first 90 days and you get sent packing. You had three, so as far as I can see PGT did cut you slack 2 times. From the company's prospective you are not showing improvement, after all you hit the wheel twice at two different times correct?
Terminated on your DAC is not the end of the world. It will make it harder for you to get a job. Its not the terminated thats going to bite you so much as it is the accidents. I have been terminated, and was able to find another job without much issue. An accident however, with 90 days experience, and a termination may be significantly harder to find a job even at one of the lower end big guys.
You can pull up you psp report from FMCSA for $10.00, might be a wise investment for you to take a gander at that and see which incidents are on there. Then head over to dotjobhistory site and get your DAC report. Then you can see what you are up against. If they reported ALL three incidents you are going to have a hell of a time with your job hunt. Its better to know upfront.
And as a side note, the reason its a big deal when a O/O's truck gets hit is because its theirs. Its not the companies. Its their money that gets spent to repair it. It would be like someone hitting your house with a car, maybe the only damage is a broken window, or a hole. Looks minor sure, but your the one that has to get it fixed.
O/O put alot of love and money into their rigs in most cases, in a way their trucks are like a pet or kid. No one wants to see something they worked hard for get damaged by anything. On top of this he most likely now has to spend money to get that rig fixed asap so he can keep rolling to make money. These aren't the economic times to be sitting around waiting for repairs on a truck note. Try to be more sympathic to the person whose life you made more difficult due to YOUR mistake not theirs.PainNdaNeck, The Challenger, uptownkid and 6 others Thank this. -
TOTALLY AGREED!!!! I cannot believe how bad some peoples grammar is on here. I am no English teacher but it is a pet peeve for me to atleast try to spell and use correct grammar when I write on these things. Makes it so much easier to read things on here if people just use a little bit of grammar. This dude even spelled "bumper" wrong and "believe" wrong. haha that is hilarious.
In the 3 years I was on the road. I did get a idling ticket in the Bronx one night and a fine for passing in the no truck lane in NJ. Both were minor, did not affect my DAC or Drivers License. I just paid them and considered them a lesson learned. Although; I do have a clean driving record.
And buddy trust me when I say there is no jealousy in someone that could not survive for 90 days on the road without screwing something up. Yes everybody makes mistakes. I've had some close calls on the road before but thankfully someone was looking out for me every time. There are some crazy drivers on the road that some times jeopardize your safety but you always have to be on the lookout.
When at a shipper/receive. Don't mind getting out and asking the guy in the truck on your blindside to turn his cb on and let you know if you are getting close to his truck or sometimes they will get out and help you. They had a lot rather let you know on the cb that you are getting close to their truck than just taking a chance at you hitting them.
I can proudly say I have delivered in all 5 boroughs of NYC and have never hit anything other than a dock. I did get lost one night in Queens because of a stupid detour but that is another story. I even drove through times square back when you could drive through it. I loved going to NYC. It was always an adventure.PainNdaNeck Thanks this.
