How long were you with trainer?...Even if only a month, if you haven't got shifting down by then, how much time do you think you'll need?...I understand you drove on the highway a lot but I'm sure you didn't switch on the ramps and if so, even then you had to go thru the gears...And in that time, did you not have to hit docks and if so, were they all wide open with no trucks around?...Never parked at a truck stop?...Need more input...

well my shifting is fine. my backing is fine now too. I went to a private school and had lots of practice.

This is to sydsdriver.
Why would you care about what I want to do with my life. You seem like the type of person that nobody likes. I would sure hate to be you.
And once again this thread is not for me to complain about me failing the road test. I know I failed the road test. I could have prevented the whole thing by staying out with my second trainer for a few more weeks.
This thread is to warn all central refriderated newbies going out with a trainer. The warning is do not fail the road test. If you fail central refridgerated will put terminated on your DAC report. By them doing this it will become extremely difficult for you to get a driving job. A negative mark on your dac looks real bad to insurance companies. you will apply for trainee positions with starter companies like warner, roehl, tmc, they will all tell you they cant hire you unless you have 6months otr experience.
I have taken a refresher course so that I can get employment and still no one would hire me because of the negative mark on my DAC. and i have absolutley no criminal history or any major motor vehicle tickets or duis nothing.
I have orientation with swift in a couple weeks and I have done some reading on swift orientation. Apparently swift recruiters will tell you that your background checked out and when you get there 2 days later safety tells you they cant hire you for whatever reason. And this is after the recruiter said it was fine. So I hope they dont send me home because of my DAC that says terminated.
My advice to all newbies with trainers. Make sure you are learning. If not get a new trainer. If your trainer is fine and you are a slow learner dont be in a rush to get back and take that test. Stay out a few more weeks and concentrate on what you need to work on. -
one more for sydsdriver
4 more years of OBAMA baby! -
>>>> And this is after the recruiter said it was fine. So I hope they dont send me home because of my DAC that says terminated.
Here's an idea, be honest and tell them to avoid that otherwise every day you'll be waiting for them to call you into an office and tell you what you already know...That won't allow you to focus as you should...

Now I understand you blaming them and saying "they're" bad...sydsdriver Thanks this. -
As for your other post you know why you were forced on the crappiest, lowest paying, longest layover runs? Because you were the new guy with no seniority a few more months and some other newly hired poor ####### would have to do it instead of you. Hope didn't burn any bridges, you can always go back.froglegs Thanks this. -
yes I can always go back. I still work for First Group. They own greyhound, boltbus, first student, first transit, and first para transit. i can work for any one of them
-
Shawn, what do you think Central should have put on you DAC? Isn't it true that they terminated you?
Yes or No
I understand you are upset because other company you are applying at won't touch you unless you have 6 months exp. But another thing that might be hurting you is the amount of jobs you have had in a short span of time. Employers don't like job hoppers. They don't feel it's worth their time and money to train you when you are just going to quit and go somewhere else. -
well i have been honest with the swift recruiter. told her strait up i have termintated on my dac is it a problem she said no. i also put terminated from central on the application. and when i meet with safety i will bring it up again.
And i dont job hop. before central i had a steady job. i did quit greyhound but have been on the new job over a year. as far as what they should have put on my DAC I think that they shoudnt put anything unless you get in an accident or get a ticket or abbandon a vehicle.
It dosnt matter really what i think they should put or not put. The fact stands if you fail the test your screwed. even if you go to a great school afterwards and borrow uncle jims tractor and practice driving everyday 16hours a day for a year. no one will hire you -
Now I am going to ask have anyone other than me failed thier road test and was able to make it back into trucking. I really want to hear how you did it
