Founded in May 1985, Celadon Group Inc. (NYSE: CGI) ranks as one of North America’s largest truckload carriers with annual revenue exceeding $550 million. Celadon has also been recognized as one of the safest truckload carriers with multiple first-place finishes in the Truckload Carriers Association’s National Fleet Safety Awards among carriers annually hauling over 100 million miles.

Headquartered in Indianapolis, Celadon employs approximately 4,000 employees and operates roughly 3,300 tractors and 10,000 trailers. Its customer base includes Fortune 500 shippers such as General Electric, Philip Morris, Wal-Mart, DaimlerChrysler, Procter & Gamble, DuPont, and Target.

As a dry van truckload carrier, Celadon generally transports full trailer loads of freight from origin to destination without intermediate stops or handling. The company operates in two main market sectors. In international operations, the company offers time-sensitive transportation in and between the U.S. and its two largest trading partners, Mexico and Canada. With approximately 150,000 annual border crossings, the company is believed to be the largest provider of international truckload movements in North America.

In addition to international business, Celadon also offers a range of truckload transportation services within the United States, including long-haul and dedicated. Six acquisitions over the past five years have allowed Celadon to expand its operations and service offerings within the United States and significantly improve lane density, freight mix, and customer diversity.

Along with its truckload services, Celadon also owns TruckersB2B, which offers purchasing power for items such as fuel, tires, and equipment to small- and medium-sized member trucking fleets; Celadon Dedicated Services, which provides supply chain management solutions for three Fortune 500 companies; and Celadon Brokerage Services.

yes all trucks are equiped with a new qual com, they are the newest types. There are alot of reasons you would want to have a qual com.
only reason i would think you wouldnt want one is you dont wanna be tracked and wanna run illegal.
Qual coms are easy to use and learn. and makes communicating with your dm a breeze. some drivers dont like calling me on the phone and i encourage phone calls or qual com mesages either one is fine.

    qual com uses
    1. this is the way you receive your load assignment and dispatch from me
    2. this is the way you confirm your load, saying you will accept and do the load
3.fueling locations fuel stops are sent to you via qual com
4.any important messages from safety or the shop is sent to you via qual com

I could go on and on about the many important uses of the qual com

    Deal breaker right there.

The reasons you listed below are good for ignorant people who need their hands held.

Has nothing to do about running illegal. But it does have something to do with people looking over my shoulder.

I've already had quallcomm once, and peoplenet. Both are unreliable peices of trash.

And since 2006 using a celluar telephone has done the exact same thing & is much easier to understand then abbreviated words on a small keyboard.

The answer to #1 applies to this one as well.

It's my truck. I fuel where ever I currently choose.

Hmmmm.... If the saftey dept of the company I'm leased to has an issue with me, they call me. As for shop..... I ain't going there.

And you'd be surprised at how many O/O that are turning their backs to your company because you require tracking devices. It's like Swift, they require their O/O to govern their trucks. So the only people they can get leased on are those dummies who sign a lease purchase deal & think they are all that.
