Hello Every-1 My name is Carol.
I wanted to start this thread so all can follow mine and my husband, Chris', journey as we journey into the trucking business as team divers. Also, we welcome all the feedback we can get! Being new to all this we are so willing to learn good advise along the way!!
As I am typing this thread Chris is currently taking his DMV driving test.
He passed his school tests yesterday, with 'flying colors'!! Way to go Chris!
He has a phone appointment w/May trucking tomorrow to see if they will be hiring him on, prayers lifted!
I'm going to drive w/him for a few months and study the "Bumper to Bumper" manual. Then I'll go to school to start my training. I have no experience what-so-ever w/driving any kind of big vehicle, let alone an 18 wheeler. But I'm a very good learner/driver and I figure if other ladies can learn then why not me - right?
Any way, I wanted to start this tread to introduce me & Chris to the Trucking world. I'm sure we will make some awesome friends along the way! Won't you journey along w/C2C Team Drivers to watch this journey unfold?

Happy trails. "C2C" -- I like it!

Welcome C2C! My wife and I drove team and loved it. Plus you are going to make a crap load of money! Husband/wife teams are the cream of the crop in the industry and you will definitely be treated like gold! Make sure you make the right choice in choosing companies. Take your time. If you have any questions don't be afraid to holler. The memories you are going to make out there will be far more valuable than all that money you will make! Good luck!
p.s. As a team you will be driving C to C two to three times a week! Ironic huh!CarolCreates Thanks this. -
Chompi, how cool, "p.s. As a team you will be driving C to C two to three times a week! Ironic huh!" That's why I chose that name, one because our names begin w/C and also as U said.
Since my Thread post, Chris did in fact pass his CDL driving test today. He will talk w/May Trucking tomorrow to see his option of being hired. He did about 4-5+ months of research before choosing May. I will defiantly keep this forum updated of our progress!
Thnx for the feed back!

Well tell him congrats! You guys will be out there in no time at all! Give yourself about 2-3 months before you are comfortable with the lifestyle and such. My wife was in a bit of shock at first but it didn't take her long to go with the flow. I think that is going to be your hardest part of the journey. Once that big rig feels like home it will be a lot easier and less stressful on you guys. This also gives you time to designate the work of the truck. My wife handled paperwork, office work and made the phone calls and such and I handled the extreme driving and mechanics of the operation. Once you guys get your schedule figured out it will allow you to make the most of your time and also allow you to run the big miles. Prepare for the hustle! Husband wife teams are expected to average 1000 miles a day or 7000 a week. Sounds unobtainable right now but like I said once you have your schedule down pat this shouldn't be hard at all.
