This thread reminds me of something that happened to me back in the 90s when I was working for Transcontinental Refrigerated Lines. I was in the yard, and the boss, Seven Hrobachak asked me to give him a ride to the airport to catch a flight to Wisconsin. On the way, he was telling me how he was meeting with the owner of Martin to play golf and that they played golf together 3 or 4 times a year and talked business together.

The following day, I was on my way to Seattle and pulled into Truck World in Hubbard Ohio. I parked and made my way into the restauraunt, and sat down. I wasn't there no 5 minutes when the guy behind me seen my TRL hat and started shootig his mouth off about TRL cutting rates. Turns out he was a Marten driver. This clown got hostile and was making a fool out of himself and pushed me to the point where I was ready to ask him to step outside. But then I figured WTH.....let's sink his ship with knowledge.

He went pretty silent when I asked him what he knew about Marten rates and TRL rates. He went totally silent when I told him what it looked like for him to be setting there shooting his mouth off about something that he knew nothing about and causing hate and discontent between drivers, when his boss and my boss were both in Wisconsin that very minute walking the links, enjoying friendship and talking business. What a fool.:yes2557:

My husband has driven for JBS for the past two years. He has never had any issues with them. He works hard and has earned a good reputation as one they can count on to get loads delivered on time and with no drama. He has driven a truck for the last 20 years. He is not a newby. Last year he grossed $60,000 . This week he turned in over 5900 miles for the two week pay period. No, I'm not happy that our insurance went up this year, but look around, that's happening everywhere. My husband just told me that a wife can be in a truck with a husband. There are some that work there. The wife travels with the husband. As for kids, yes they are restricted, because they don't want them in the trucks in the winter. As for the equipment and such, My husband has had lots of trucks over the years, and no they may not be fancy here at JBS, but they do the job and he gets his work done. You all major on such petty things on this thread. Who cares what they pick you up in at the airport, wheter or not you have to share a room and all the other garbage. Be thankful there is a company here in the USA that is putting people to work, and you're one of the lucky ones that have a job right now.:binky

I put an app in at jbs close to 3 weeks ago as well as 2 of my friends. Either jbs is being flooded with apps or their not interested in hiring drivers from pa. Driver requirments are there as far as i know. A return phone call would be nice. O well!!!! fmcsa website on the sms page WOW!!! Don't llok good. Hope things get turned around. stncold how do the elogs work?? I talked to one of ur drivers and he said there is 0 tolarence. Said that when ur hours are up u are stuck sitting whever ur at.

That is correct unless you have to do safe haven. U then send a message to safety explaining the violation.

I called and left messages! Last conversation i had was "we are waiting on safty dept and we are learning a new system" I am an open minded person but i havn't talked to a jbs driver yet that is happy and say good things about their job. Alot of their big problems is that they are not getting the miles and dispatch is having problems on schedualing load times cause of the elogs. i have learned to log legal casue thats the way the industry is going. BUT on the same note in order to be profitable trip planning is something the driver and dispatch have to learn. Very concerened on why I am hearing so much negativiy
