Posted recently in a thread about the company I work for. After posting some shocking facts about the way I was made to run (equipment-wise), including a major exhaust leak where I was expected to put up with it until returning to the home terminal vs getting it fixed while the truck was down 3 days for my home time... I ended up deleting the post.
I got a stern, accusatory call from the safety manager about my post. He didn't tell me to remove the post, but I got the idea that other actions might happen if I didn't.
The irony is that there wasn't one thing in the post that wasn't factual - it also wasn't inflammatory, no names were mentioned (the shop guy), there were no embellishments or exaggerations.
I just found it interesting that someone in management was stalking the forum.
They're watching me

http://www.ksl.com/?nid=148&sid=14304192 this person was fired for comments made on fb about his supervisor. He sued with help from the natioanl labor relations board, and won
My current company is so very touchy about negitive comments that are posted on thier fb page. Driver who make a negetive comment, get kicked off the page, as well as a phone call from the main headhunter.
Yet couple of other carriers are open to both the good and bad comments on thier respective fb pages..
I belive if companies are going to have social networking pages, they need to be open to both the good and bad.U4EA and scottied67 Thank this. -
Understanding that, I didn't curse, call names, say the company was stupid or anything, just posted a factual account of a negative experience to counter the previous poster's words that sounded like the company was all daisies and butterflies.
U4EA and scottied67 Thank this. -
Well I would think that a company that threatens you for posts on here, wouldn't that be a violation of free speech not to mention violation of whistleblower protection act?
mayflower, Lee76, NWMAXI and 1 other person Thank this. -
Just ironic that all they needed to do was fix their truck and become DOT compliant, yet instead of actually do all of that without crying, nashing of teeth and guilt trips, I got a phone call. Still don't have a city horn in my current truck, and they're not going to spend the money to have a dealer tech tear into the steering column harness. Their folks also believe that it's ok to run up to 20k on the front axle of a truck rated for 12k - their response is "no one checks that, don't worry about it".

Well I would expose them for who they are. If they don't like it, they should change or go our of business.

Can we say "BIG BULLY" I would post names and cell numbers if it was me, who cares if they get their panties in a wad. They shouldn't have been idiots in the first place and run such a piss poor outfit. Tell that safety man where he can go and you can assist him if needed.

I would post all names and numbers too. Some people are scared and have no back-bone. Don't be afraid to post the truth about these companies.
scottied67 Thanks this. -
Sounds like all good reasons to search for a new employer.
