Do you leave your things plugged in all the time? laptops plugged in etc. While I'm asking about that what about 12v coolers? Keep them running no matter?
those with company trucks and 400w inverters

I leave mine plugged in all the time and i have a 12v waeco cooler that stays plugged in as well.
I have had no issues with the shop or the truck what so ever. -
I leave my cooler plugged in all the time unless I'm on home time. I usually unplug the inverter unless I'm using something, but not sure it matters.
-
I had two 400 watt inverters and the coleman 12 volt...and the batteries only complained after 12 hours if I wasn't running the truck.
-
Left my cooler plugged in for a couple hours once.
Had to jump the truck.
The company had no sympathy for drivers that left them plugged in and had to pay for jumps. -
Last truck I had did something like that too Medic...turned out the cooler was going bad ....it was drawing to much power....unplug the cooler and away I went
-
So, they asked me to change it.
Like a rookie, why not.
It took longer, because two of the bolts stripped off and I had to get the mechanic to come out anyway. Meanwhile, forgot the cooler.
Jump required. Thankfully, they were okay for one time, since I had tried to fix the truck.rocknroll nik Thanks this. -
I work for Swift but I am too poor to own a cooler.
I do have a inverter to power a few things but I always UN plug it when I am done with it.
spuddatruckdriver Thanks this.
