Aren't you the one that wasted a whole thread arguing that any truck loaded over 80,000 pounds was a hazard to everyone that gets within 10 miles of it or some such nonsense?
Something about "those heavy overloaded dangerous trucks being on the same highways as our families and Blah, blah, blah?"
Why....Yes, Yes you were!
Or have you forgotten?![]()

There is no problem when a vehicle is plated and permitted to haul the heavier loads.
I was referring to a person running a 80,000 plate and carrying over the legal limit.
But some people twist to their pleasure. -
How does a plate or a piece of paper make the same load on the same truck any safer?
You never did answer that...Hence my comment in this thread. -
Take it to PM before the thread gets OOS.
thanksNootherids and 25(2)+2 Thank this. -
Now for all others still interested. Any opinions on the rule of too many lights being state specific and not federal? -
I have light bars on my tractor that give me a total of 14 lights at the rear of the tractor. I have a total of 10 brake lights and 5 turn signals on each side, I run all of the lower 48 and haven't had any cop say anything to me about it except one DOT cop in California made a comment about the truck being visible from the rear.
I've never heard of anyone being bothered about extra lights as long as all of them worked.Nootherids Thanks this. -
Don't all those extra lights make you over weight and thus a safety hazard? -
Here is one way
-
my fontaine came with 14 lights on the rear from the factory. 8 pirhanna's in the middle (3 cluster up top 5 in the lower panel) and 3 4"'ers for s/t/t. i had heard a while back reitnouer had the dot come in a raise holy hell because they were putting 5 marker lights in the center instead of 3, which is why they now have the 3 markers and the 2 reflectors....this was what i had heard anyways weather its true or not i dont know.
i know i was seein a real nice lookin blue pete with a matching covered wagon runnin across the pike in IM and OH he had like 11 or 12 4" lights across the rear of the trailer, could see it a mile away lol.
light em up who cares! its just another way for the states to generate revenue. -
I was talking to a Maine D.O.T a few years ago about the lighting issue, his reply was already stated (3 center 2 on outside) I know it sounds stupid but I had to agree according to the books it means a vehicle in access of 8', so I asked him why his suburban had the 3/2 combo on its roof, right about then I gathered up my paperwork and left
