Mr.Haney will hook you up. We had an '03 MBN in a W900L, had zero issues right up until we sold it last year at ~750k miles. Everything was original (including the water pump/turbo). No idea what the mileage was, only checked it a few times and it was usually around 5.5 pulling a conestoga doing stop and go lumber deliveries.

If it hasn't been done already you need to dump the factory converter(s) and put a free flowing muffler(s) on.

I don't think it was done, own a truck for few days only. Just got done fixing all lights, what a pain it was. Any idea were I can get free flowing mufflers at good price?

    Thanks, Raf.

3.70 rears aren't gonna keep your rpms low enough at 70mph to get good fuel mileage IMO

What does it have for muffler(s) now? Is the exhaust behind the doors, behind the cab, grass burner?

Maybe true, but I don't think they would affect it enough to justify replacing them. If they needed replaced I would probably go with 3:55's or 3:36. But I don't know if the mileage would increase enough to pay for the gears. The one we had was on 3:70's but it barely saw 65 due to mostly running state routes.

Hey raf147, what size wheels/tires? Ours was on full size 24.5's. If you've got small wheels the gears may hurt you.

Exhaust is behind the doors, I am sure that it's not the free flow version of them. Tires are 22.5 LP, I have a 10 Car Carrier truck and I need them to be low. I was thinking on getting PDI Straight Flow Performance Stack Muffler's. Price is ok, hoping it would help somehow.

If they're just the standard 51" long 10" size that's been around forever I would just go to any truck dealer or parts shop and buy the cheapest ones they have. I know the local KW dealer has them on sale for less than $50 sometimes. Here are 2 links to what I'm talking about.
    Donaldson
    Ryder Fleet Products

Since your tires are LP22.5's that gearing may kill you at 70.

I'm not sure if you're talking about gearing overall or if you talking about gearing that I have in this truck? I never mention what gear ratio I have. That my sound dumb but how would I know what the ratio is? This truck was a bank owned truck, no info at all.

Mr. Honey recommend Donaldson off road mufflers, I might just get them but I would like to know if PDI's Performance mufflers are any better? My ECM will be flashed to 7NZ soon, turbo will stay for now and after some time I'll upgrade to a better one. My question is: which setup would be better with new flash. Does anyone has PDI mufflers that could tell me something about them?

    Raf

edit: I forgot to ask Mr. Honey about them, He's busy man, don't want to call every 5 min. Thanks in advance.

Sorry I had assumed you said you had 3.70's because of the post Sharpshooter posted earlier. What kind of truck is your MBN in? I can't imagine the PDI mufflers being any better, Donaldson mufflers are on most of the trucks on the road and have been around forever. The ones I posted, and probably the ones Mr.Haney suggested are straight through with no real baffles so I can't imagine anything better than that.

04 379 Pete 10 Car carrier, I'll go with the Donaldson mufflers. How would I check for ratio?
