Thanks for the reply, i was always under the impression that the truck load side has nothing to do with the ltl side. Does anyone know if this is true? They are always looking for drivers in kutztown, pa and I'm wondering if its a good deal. I think the ltl side is union and the truck load side isnt. Thanks for the help.

Just my opinion, anything UPS Freight is good. Check out the LTL division if you can - unreal money.. -

I just got hired by ups freight truckload yesterday in Lakeland,Florida. The job doesnt start until March 26th. They asked if I wanted to go to Kutztown to work until the middle of march. They said they would fly me in and put me up in a hotel and give me a food allowance. Lastly UPS Freight is the non-union side.

Been with them for four months, and they have been treating me great. I run Truckload SSD and am home every weekend, with a few exceptions that have to do with me covering routes for another part of our division. Just started getting a lot of perks from the boss, since it seems like it might be a rare thing here to be a driver that wants to drive down the road.
Let me run as hard as I can legally, but don't really seem to complain to the drivers who take it easy. Great about allowing us to follow HOS and making safety related decisions about the weather and/or road conditions. Really comes down to the point where I hear all the complaints from drivers at other companies, and I can't relate at all to them.
Only complaints I have are with some of the corporate rules, that anyone in a big company will understand about. Also a bit of a problem getting repairs made on the trucks, but working out of a terminal that doesn't have a shop may have a lot to do with that. I hear that this stuff was a lot better back when it was Overnite, but it's nothing that I can't deal with.
I think you should get in with them if given the chance. Has to be one of the best driving jobs out there. -

was at thomson, ga DC with schneider on the advance acct, the pay rate on my regular run i had would be 850.00 a weekwith ups, with schneider it was 1025.00 a week. mileage rate rate went up from 33 to 38 per mile but stop pay was cut almost in half. you only get 1600 to 1700 miles a week and 22 to 25 stops , driver unload with electric pallet jack, but the stores have returns so you bring back usually same number of pallets you leave with, you will work your ### off, however you wont have to wait to unload. the former advance auto drivers on this account all averaged 1500 to 1700 a week and some even higher. frankly it is a funny thing that with ups coming in they are paying less than schneider. a real rip-off for the work involved. but you can be home most nights and the stores are a pain to get into.
also everything is the drivers fault, the advance warehouse does no wrong, lol
