Can It Be That Easy?
Hello Everyone.
I made another phone call to Central yesterday. After talking with someone in safety, who was very enthusiastic about the new digital hearing system I purchased, he indicated that all I need to do is have my doctor compose a letter stating that my hearing does exceed the DOT minimum (which it does), and that she is prescribing the use of this hearing system which will assist me in hearing all of the trainer's instructions.Sounds simple enough. Once I turn in this paper work, I can head back out with a trainer.
So I've made an appointment with the doctor for tomorrow. Hopefully, she can have that letter typed up while I wait. I want to get the letter turned in no later than Friday so I can get setup with my trainer before the weekend.
I'll let you know how it turns out.
Thanks for reading.

Holy &$#& I finished reading this entire thread and am now addicted. Wedge sounds like things are going your way...I sure do hope you get on the road soon.
A/T nice videos on you tube.
Ok all opinion needed. I have do e a lot of research and still much to do but I am in the process of picking a school to go to. I am very interested in two: the first one is American Institute of Technology four week course and guarantee placement most likely with Swift. On the other hand Watkins Shepard has the same deal. Since I am retired AF I have my GI bill to help off set the cost of the school. Both offer great assistance with financial aid and both rate high with the BBB. I guess my dilemma is with who I want to work for when I finish. I know about opinions but after reading this thread you all have had so much input
(with everything) that I would really appreciate any insight you could provide.
BTW I do not know how to type and to make matters worse I typed this on my IPad (what the hell was I thinking?)I will check back soon

Thanks Halfburn, the goal is to get enough OTR experience so I can drive locally. I have always liked driving and the wife is onboard as well...although she is a veteran when it comes to me being gone it is something we can put up with. I have adapted to so many lifestyles in my 25 hrs with the AF I think this is one I can adapt to as well. Most companies (if not all) require OTR experience before you can pick up a job driving locally. Besides being an aircraft mechanic this will be a welcomed change of pace.

A/T I got a hold of your PTI...thanks for making it available
