Talked to Alice today. I'm just about all ready to head out. Taking my permit test in the next few days. I was kinda disappointed to find out that I have to find my own way there, but it's no biggie. I'll be there the 14th of March. She said I should be hooked up with a trainer before the class is over. I'll probably take a Greyhound to Marietta and then take a cab to the motel.

If things work out I could pick you up on my way home from Roehl and drop you off at the motel.
You knowing trucking, time is everything kind of like the military, hurry up and wait. lol -
They're not providing transportation? I thought they would buy a bus ticket for you. -
I thought they did too. Never the less. I'll be there.. -
Well, week two almost done. Dropped another student today; problems with backing and manuvers. My group has been driving around, trips to AL - mostly back roads and with a trailer. Tuesday we were up toward Lookout Mnt. on switchbacks and heavy grades - fun, fun! Yes, the trailer (even empty) makes a noticable difference in the brakes. Yesterday we took off to drop off a trailer and a few super singles then pick up some fuel islands in another trailer from the yard in Trenton and came back today. Almost all hwy 75 and rain w/fog (at times less than 1/4 mile vis.) through KY. Passing through wiegh stations and truck stops along the way... still getting nervious about our one guy in the group who's still stalling out and misshifting and not double clutching or rev clutching to slow down; we're testing out on the road test tomorrow (minus backing since our group has not been instructed - I think). Possibility of dropping another student (from the backing group) tomorrow if he's not getting it by the end of lunch and maybe the guy from our group depending the outcome of his road test (if it had been today - failed).
I'll still hanging in there - have to, and I want to. I couldn't begin to tell you all how much it feels natural to be crusing down the freeway at 65mph as I scan (naturally) the traffic ahead, on/off ramps, mirrors, and guages - and I'm not even thinking about how often I do it in ten mins. time. Just another action/reaction to me I guess.
Happy TrailsHitman Thanks this. -

Went to the DMV today for the permit test. Glad to get that out of the way. Only thing I have left to do is pack!

Thanks man, I'm taking a Greyhound to Marietta. I think it gets there somewhere around 8-8:30 am on the 13th. I'm guessing check in isn't til around 11 or so.
