(The above post is a perfect example of bad information. USA Truck does have Breakdown pay that starts right away, not in 24 hours. They also have Detention Pay.)

This comment is a lie, USA TRUCK DOES NOT pay break down pay, i sat 4 days at a motel in atlanta when my truck broke down, i sat in green bay 3 days broke down, i sat at terminals in vandalia, chicago, van buren, west memphis, and spartanburg, and never got any sort of break down pay, i asked for oit on my qual com and was informed by dispatch and breakdown that USA doesnt pay breakdown

Also USA does not pay detention pay, you only get paid to drive the miles, THATS IT! i will agree that first driver should have requested local pay, but dont sit here and lie saying that they pay stuff that i personally know for a fact that they dont.

Notezbngrn71,you sound like somebody from corporate in van buren that sits behind a desk and doesnt know what he is talking about, this is a truckers forum not a desk jockey forum, go somewhere else and talk to people who will actually believe your lies. And i followed the rules but i quit usa due to the lies from dispatch, and them not wanting to fix my truck, i spent almost all of the winter of 2009 with no defrost or heat cuz my thermostat was stuck open, and they wouldnt get me to a terminal or pay to get it fixed at a t/a, only way i got it fixed was to bring a load home with me for hometime, and then refuse to leave home with the load until my truck was fixed.. So quit lying and hoping you can convince the new drivers to go to usa, let them make their own decision based on facts, not the lies that you are dishing out

First of all, I'm a driver so learn how to read.

Secondly, you worked at USA in 2009. There have been a lot of changes since then. You're apparent hatred for the company seems to have blinded your ability to remember what year it is. Also, trucks governed at 60 are because the driver has habitually violated fuel economy guidelines.

From your posts I can deduct that you can't follow simple instructions much less know how to deal with people like your fleet manager. I'm sorry that you feel you must soil the name of USA because of your own failings.

In addition, if you didn't get breakdown pay during your stay in Atlanta, its your own faulty. There is a simple qualcomm macro to insure that your paid.

As to your accusation that I'm a corporate desk jockey. Again, I'm a driver and an educated one.I wont apologize for seeking to educate myself instead of just going through life wondering about the world.

In closing, I give you one final piece of advice. Its better to keep your mouth closed and thoughts fool, than rather open it and remove all doubt.

first of all, i still have friends who still drive for USA and they tell me the exact same thing, there is no break down or layover pay, there is no macro for breakdown pay, i never had an accident or got any tiuckets or violations or incidents, the trucks NOW are governed at 63 -65 but only the BRAND NEW ones, not the 08-09 prostars and the even older 9400s.
And if i was such a bad driver as u put it, the USA wouldnt have called me two weeks ago to try to get me to come back to work for them.
Me and my fm Matt got along decently, but he always told me that he had rules to follow also and since the company doesnt pay breakdown, he couldnt authorize it, and its even harder to get a hotel roomn from them especially if you have to try to deal with a broad named theresa who cares more about you disturbin g her lunch at home with her kids, because u need a hotel room. USA hasnt changed since i was there, i know my FACTS, so quit lying to these new drivers, they need to learn the truth so they can make an informed decision on which company to go with. USA is only good to just get your start, then get out as soon as you get your required time..
When I left USA evenb hired an investigatioin company out of tulsa to call recent drivers who have quit to ask them why because there was such a huge amount of them quitting, and my last statement is i said i started there in 09, i left in 2010, i quit 10 months ago...

You really can't read and comprehend well.

Let me break this down for you one more time. If your truck is governed at 60mph and it wasn't turned down to that because of your violations, then you failed to pull it into a terminal and have it turned back up since the previous driver.

Also, Macro 32 records your breakdown and starts the pay record.

Dentention pay is at the discretion of your Fleet Manager but does come out of their budget. So if you were never awarded it, then I question how well you got along with this person. My guess is they just blew smoke up your ### and blamed it on the company to maintain their budget.

If you had problems with your Fleet Manager or these items, you should have went over their head with your complaints.

Also, for your information, the 9400s will be off the road by end of summer at the latest. USA has made a significant investment in brand new trucks this year to get those 9400s off the road. The first purchase of 500 Freightliner Cascadias is just about completed with delivery and then another 500 International ProStars with the new MaxxForce motor will be the next step.

You shouldn't rely on another angry driver as your provider of information.

there trucks are set at 59/60 or 60/63, doesnt matter if they are new or old, and the only way to get 60/63 is if you have good fuel review.

worked there from early 07 to late 08.
    truck was at 63
accesorial (sp?) pay was NOT paid if you had over 2k miles (i think) for that week
YES their maint. was what pizzed me off the most about them. seemed the best way to get something fixed was to drive past the terminal and "break down" somewhere else because they were always so busy
i lucked out and had very good FM's while i was there and i treated them like I wanted to be treated so it worked well for me.
even though they fired me for a BS reason i still enjoyed my time there and give them a favorable opinion when asked here
