Hey guys and gals. For those that have went through the Swift Academy, Millington in particular I have a question for ya. Were you told by your recruiter that you have to have a DOT physical before you get to the school?
From what I understand you will be given a physical when you get there regardless if you just got one that is less than 60 days old. If so, what's the point in spending the money beforehand? Makes no sense to me, and would be wasting money.
Question about physical

None of you Swifties have any idea on this?
-
Far as know you don't need a physical before you go....I went to a C.C. and they have you take one...need it to even drive while in school. Swift gave me another...although that one was DOT less than 3 months old.
-
Swift gave me a physical, 'cause mine was 65 days old.

You wil get a DOT physical at Swift, regardless of when your last one was completed. Mine was completed less than 30 days before orientation, and I had to get another one on my first day of orientation.

wait a minute .....didn't you have to get a physical for school? That was part of your tuition/miscellaneous fees. ALL the big companies make you get a physical from THEIR physician of choice......when I got out of school and went to Werner my physical was 35 days old...got another one......3 /12 months later when I went to Celadon I was given another physical at their expense.......are they saying you have to get a physical at your cost?
Ok I get it you are going to their school.......well I guess they want to know you can pass an exam before you get to their school...... -
The recruiter is saying that a physical is required at my expense before school. When I spoke with a coordinator from the school, they said that one was not required before school because they give physicals there. I guess it's a case of the right hand not knowing what the left hand is saying/doing.

I would go off the information given from the school. You had indicated in a previous conversation that this recruiter didn't seem too sure about things. If you need further clarification, ask to talk to the recruiter's supervisor about it, explaining you only want to be sure about it before laying out the dough.
I did not get a physical before school.Joker24 Thanks this. -
Injun Thanks this.
