I may regret this... But ask someone on the inside!

When Swift was running Dollar General in the SE, they did use the black trucks. There are a couple of black daycabs running around Georgia out of the newly acquired Sam's Club DC in East Georgia.

Is the DC in East Georgia or West Georgia? I know we run heavy-haul Sams out of Villa Rica...

Any colored Swift truck you see with all the decals and the first three digits of the truck number are 590, those are IEL lease units that were put into the fleet as company trucks (all sorts of colors)....And yes the Black trucks (mainly Volvo 670's) are for Dollar General dedicated, but you may see them doing other work too.

Hey, Shrek. No question yet. Just wanted to say I'm happy you're on here. It's nice to see some participation from the office.

Hey Injun, figured someone from the inside had to step up and address some of the really weird stuff I have read in here about our Company.

And if you are on an Ashley load right now, you are hauling one of the loads I am tracking, hope you are on time! :)

I'm back under Swift wagons for the time being. But I'm headed to Denver. I've seen a bunch of Ashley trailers in the yard there. Need one hauled?

(Me? Late on a load? Pshaw!!!)

The Ashley trailers on the Denver yard are loads brought in from Ashley in WI and MS, and they are dropped on the Denver yard, and Ashley in Denver sends one of their trucks over for the load when they need it.

Injun and The Challenger Thank this.

You forgot to mention "unless, of course, a planner changes the time in order to coerce you to accept a load you would otherwise decline."

I can promise you that no planned in this office does that. If one did that, they would get in trouble.

What they should do, and what I do when I plan loads (not just a regular CSR here), is I will tell the driver that I know they cannot make the delivery or pu on time, there will be no service failure, just pu and deliver ASAP. I have seen it done by planners all over the country.

The planners will not lie to you to coerce you into taking a load. If you think that has been done, tell your DM. Its very easy to check and see if it was done, every move we make in the computer is logged.

I really wish you could sit in with a planner and see how it works. The next time you are in Memphis during the week and in the evening, ask to speak with Bryant Glass, the ECT manager. Tell him you want to sit in with a planner to see what happens. He will gladly let you sit in with a planner, a CSR, or ECT dispatch.
