    you might, when I first started I brought 2 guys out from conover to SLC to get there trucks

    no you get no choice, unless you live on the east coast and even then you get to choose either a Penski truck and run the east or a W/S truck and run everywhere.


    Watkins Shepard trucks are Red
    White or Brown Trucks are leased from Penski and only run east of the mississippi.
    Anyother trucks you see with a W/S trailer is a O/O

    Is there a difference in pay, miles or home time. Why would you choose one over the other?

    Running the east coast your going to get home allot more often, but living right near the Conover terminal you'll get home allot anyway.

    the pay is the say as far as cpm goes, not sure on the miles, I would guess being able to do longer runs will get you more miles which would mean more $$, but the east coast guys do ALLOT of the furniture, and those $20 stops add up quick...so they probably make about the same.

    I would ask to do the east coast in a nice shiny penski truck, but the East coast sucks to drive in a big truck, very little parking, tight roads, tolls, traffic, and the worst part FURNITURE!

    I'll take beer/flour/and what ever else in the nice 70-80mph states out west with plenty of parking lol

    Looks like the funding I was supposed to get fell through for the most part. It may end up being that I go through Prime's training which isn't all that bad, I guess.

    A buddy of mine has been with Prime for about three months now. He loves it, but hated the trainer he was stuck with for 6 weeks. They gave him a brand new pete for his first ride.

    My brother is going to start with knight soon I went to that thread and there wasn't much good said about them. Most seemed not to happy does anybody have any good info on them? They can't be as bad as what I read. I tried to talk him into talking with w/s but I'm his little bro so he wouldn't listen to me. Is this the place to ask? Should I go to a different thread?

    I'm not all for the idea of having a trainer for so long. That's why W&S appeals to me; no trainer = bigger challenge. But if I have to go with Prime, I will. People do say good things about them so it can't be that bad. Just gotta suck it up and drive with someone who might be a complete moron. New truck don't sound half bad either.

    truckertwotimes went to work for them for a few weeks, then went right back to MDS....so Knight isnt truckertwotimes approved:biggrin_25513: Thus I wouldnt recommend them.
