There is no nonsense...just learning and doing what is required to get the job done. The only week in a year that I got low miles was a couple weeks back due to the ice storm. Not sure what went on with you...but I can only guess.

Full of nonsense? Stupid stuff? They pay the same loaded or empty. What does it matter what you haul or where you go? Take load A to warehouse B. Why would it matter to me. I would make the same if I bounced to both places empty:dontknow:

You are correct there are a select few who get the miles, they are the ones who do the job correctly. The turn over is not the result of Mavericks way of doing business it is very common in the majority of OTR trucking companies as many get into trucking for the wrong reasons and many of the experienced drivers who get into flat after pulling vans can't handle the physical end of the job. I would certainly think that after 14 years you would know this. $800 a week bring home is not bad money now days for an OTR company driver,if you are doing better than that now please let us know who this above average paying company is.

I do not see why not. I think as long as you have a cdl and are in their hiring area, they will consider you. Give them a call. If they will take me with zero experience at age 58....no reason they would not take you with previous experience. Not sure if you would have to take some sort of refresher course or not....they will be upfront with you from the get go....no mind games or leading you on.
    Good Luck!

I stayed with it because it really was like I was told. Just drive around the country and see all of the sites! Just in a semi instead of a rv...plus, you get paid for working out one to two times a day...which beats having to have a gym membership! I lost twenty pounds which I was not able to do with out this touring America gig!:biggrin_25522:

I looked at their hiring area, I like flatbed and OD hauling (keeps me in shape) I like chaining and tarping (believe it or not) its good exercise imo. But their hiring area for me in P.a is only for their glass division. I mean I wouldnt mind learning it if thats gonna get me home once a month but not something I want to do fulltime. I like hauling different freight, new challenges etc.

When a customer calls and asks us to haul their freight, we really do not care if they are taking to another one of their locations. In fact, if they wanted us to just truck it around for a couple of days and bring it right back, why would we care?:biggrin_25521:
