I could do that too if I did not have a 53 ft box behind me. :biggrin_2559: Trust me, big trucks burn about a half hour getting in, circling, looking, parking, standing in line, doing your duty, etc etc, etc. Time you hit the big road 30 minutes has rolled by.

Ducks, don't forget once a big truck goes on duty you have 11 hours to drive, You can't drive past 14 hours of being on duty. Loading/ unloading, stops fuel etc, all this burns the clock. Nothing like a stroll in the car.

It doesn't take me 20 mins or more to use a rest area. Its been rare for me to find a rest area thats full. I have 3 reasons for stopping in a T/S. Fuel, food, and sleep. If I have to go really bad I'll pull on a off/on ramp and cool a tire, buts thats a rarity.

How often do you roll up on a rest area when you need one tho?

Its a no brainer.if he peed on me I would be fired for kicking his a....out. But really, why the heck did you have to ask what to do. UYou already know that it is not normal behavior get with a top boss at your company and report him. Personally,I would tape him on a dispatcher buster recorder leaving no doubt what happens there. Good luck to you.

You are right, Tarps. I did not think about the on-duty but not driving time. I was thinking strictly of road time... and also, most of my stops are at rest areas during the day hours, not truck stops in the evening hours where parking is a problem. During the daylight hours, I often see trucks in and out of a rest stop easily in ten minutes... so that was what I was considering in my reply.

I obviously did not think this one through before posting. Are apologies accepted, or do I have to spend some time in the dunce corner? :biggrin_25526:
