I started training and apparently I have a job, Stevens? I hope they are kind...I hope the trainer is kind!!! I'm used to surfing and running every day. I'm sure this is over. My last company I would be stuck on an island for 6 months at a time (CocoCay Bahamas, look it up, it was nice but it rans it's course). No family no need for home time. Now I'm guessing when we fuel (every 1500 miles I may get 1 hour to run??? Food I can eat anything anywhere anytime. Plese tell me I will be able to walk upright a little. What I'm really asking is how often will an OTR team stop the truck? Am i in this thing for 24hrs at a time? Yep, I'm Brand New!

Teams will not stop the truck much. In theory the wheels will turn most of the time, very little down time for exercise. Sometimes during hard runs hardpressed for shower time. Being a solo driver you get much more free time to walk, bike ride, even an occasional skinny dip after parking your rig close to a river or creek on a county road in BMF.

Unfortanitly most people who enter into this proffesion with that kind of attitude which is the right one, become passive and lazy. The food on the road is mainly grease saturated fatty meat, with trucker's buffeys everywhere if you into the 4,000 calerie type dinner a lot of truckers are into. Truck stops want truckers to get fat and dependent on eathing 6,000+ caleries a day. They dont want truckers to say eat 1,500-2,500 caleries a day. Big loss of revenue for the small eaters, food at truck stops is the second largest source of income for truck stops.

My advise is just always keep the attitude you have persistently. Its very easy for truckers to become passive, and start to slowly over time become lazy and then slowly start to overindulge on there eating habits. Most truckers on the CB when they find another trucker they like will always invite out to some really good huge buffet to shoot the sheet. Other truckers help (not helping) keep this going as much as the truck stops who profit on it greatly.

Always watch what you it, how much and what kind of foods, and keep exercise on your venue.

My Phase I trainer at crengland drove a truck for close to 5 years, for whatever reason became homeless living in a park in Sacramento CA for I dont remember 4-6 months, then england gave him a job as a trainer I was his second student. He was a tall guy pretty skinny almost been-polish. Saw him about 6 months ago, little over a year since last time I saw him at that time. He was enormous. Probably pushing mid 300 pound range. Just a big blob of fat waddling around. You dont ever want that to happen to you. Be hard for you to get laid, massive health problems, never get any type of job other than trucking again. All your income goes to restraints and the truck stop delis so you are flushing all your hard earned cash down the toilet. It can happen very easily to almost anyone, so always keep that in mind, and keep yourself in check on that issue or you will turn out like my first trainer the ex been pole who is now a nasty blob of fat.

    Thanks man, Open and honest.
I'm guessing a geat deal of isometrics (sitting still and flexing for minutes at a time). Grabbing veggies and fruits when i can. Yoga will have to sufice for now. Stevens a good company?? Doesn't matter I'm committed and I'll stick it out for 6 months no matter.

If you live load or unload, you could have an hour or 2 waiting. Or, waiting for service /repairs at the shop.

You have that 10hr break thats mandatory...gotta stop somewhere.....use the truck as an exercise machine....go run down and back to the truck...or around the truckstop/rest area....there are ways...you just have to get creative!
