The driver is an idiot. Can his arse. If he can't take the bad with the good and support the very company he works for, you don't need him. There's no excuse for turning down that many loads. One maybe, thirteen? :biggrin_2554: He has alot to learn about the real world. Maybe he's mad and taking a time out, lol.

If he's sick, it's his own dumb fault he can't communicate.

I turned down a load yesterday. I was up all day waiting for a Tcall load to come in. Didn't start until 2pm, so when I was done dropping that one off, I declined a load since I would have to run most of the night.

I just declined it, said set my PTA for 5am, and that was that. That's about the only time I'll decline, because, you know, you have to sleep, and I'm always up early in the morning.

There is nothing wrong with declining a load, if you have a legitimate reason. But this sounds just plain ridiculous. I wonder just how much more there really is to this story.

This could be exactly what he's banking on happening. If he quits, he's not eligible for unemployment insurance.

    Interesting thread, BigShrek72.

When has Swift ever not been forced dispatch? In the 90's you couldn't hear the word "Swift" without thinking "forced dispatch."

I know the L/O contracts allow a right of refusal, but I've seen L/O division memos that say, emphatically, "if you turn down loads you'll be called in for a chat."

Like you said, sometimes a load has to move.

    Comments? Thanks.

Not reallly hard to figure out ... the guy likes where he's sitting because he's found some one or some thing there that is holding his attention.

But depending on where his company is based, if he is "Terminated For Cause," that unemployment claim may well be denied, if the company fights it.

Gotta be a real screw up to get fired at Swift. Trucking companies starve you out until you quit. Never had a layoff! :yes2557:
